Hi all,

I have attempted one of TIGLJK`s songs called ~Baby, I`ve Got You~.   I am trying to learn guitar all over again after years of not playing it, self taught anyway, so still have LOTS of work to do regarding guitar.  My timing is a little out in places but that is due to me trying to learn to play guitar and sing at the same time lol.  Anyway, love to hear your feedback smile

OH what a laugh, they were all funny!  the drummer in the yellow jacket, he was talented!

Strummerboy Bill .........  you can still leave your suggestion in for this month ..... as said above in the original thread it can be any song of your choice, it doesn`t have to be a Christmas song and the more suggestions and better smile  Also Strummber boy, how about a vote on one of the songs from the list above smile
No problem regarding the earthquake either, I wasn`t concerned at all, just glad we are all here to tell the tale smile

unclejoesband ...... I havent heard of that song, so great to hear new ones smile

dino48 ................ normally we shut it off around the 25th of the month but we may go a little bit longer to say the 27th to give people more time to suggest songs and vote from the list.  Thanks dino for your vote from the list, how about a suggesting a song as well to go in the hat?

zurf and tigljk ........... I noticed comments from you both  but no suggestions or votes from the list ............ how about it?  the more the merrier smile

ANYONE else want to add suggestions?  and Vote on a song from the list?  Don`t be shy smile

(Edited by Jandle  to add a word and to change news to new)

Bill ................ if only we all had our own personal drummer with kit on hand ............. i would be ALL FOR IT!!!!!!  smile

Thanks for asking and as easybeat and Peatle have both said, we all survived and are here to tell the tale.  It wasn`t pleasant at all, probably the LONGEST earthquake i have ever felt, it seemed to go on and on.  There has been ongoing earthquakes and after shocks, not nice at all.  Damage mainly in Kaikoura in the South Island and Wellington in the North Island  but has been felt pretty much thoughout NZ.  Two deaths, one house totally demolished, one house moved metres in Kaikoura and they are totally cut off there, no way in or out other than by air.  One large high rise building looking like it may collapse in Wellington and other buildings damaged.  Railway tracks damaged, land slips, roads cracked and raised, land crack and raised, power has been out in places.

Today in Wellington we got hit with a hugh storm as well, major flooding ( in my own house flooding in the garage) .... been a rough few days to say the least.

Peatle ..................we must have the same warped humor, maybe have to be a Kiwi to enjoy the dry humor smile ............i really enjoy the flight of the concords too (most of their stuff wink )

Peatle,  thought provoking and very much a subject many these days are pondering and questioning.  Well done and i like the way you have put it to music smile

That was inspiring, thanks for sharing Strummberboy smile

Nice Peatle, hadnt heard of him before, thanks for sharing.

This month we are looking to have TWO SONGS suggested for December, but this time we are doing something a little different.

Firstly: We are looking for YOUR VOTE, yes YOU THE MEMBERS, on ONE SONG from all the previous suggested songs over the previous months that have NOT as yet been chosen.  Take a look at the list of songs listed below and place your vote. For example, if you would like to vote on “I shot the Sheriff” then say “I vote on I shot the Sheriff” or “I pick” or “I want” or something that lets us know which song your voting on from the list. The song with the most votes from you the members will be one of the chosen songs for December.

LIST:

Piano Man
Yesterday – The Beatles
The Cup Song
Teach Your Children
Starry Starry Night – Don McLean – Vincent
Classical Gas
Moonlight Sonata
Malaguena
Money For Nothing – Dire Straits
Poncho and Lefty
Small Town – John Mellancamp
The Times They Are A -Changin
Things We Said Today
You Aint Going Nowhere
Mother, A Punks Ballard – Beamer`s Song
Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
Woodstock – Joni Mitchell & CSNY
Amarillo by Morning – George Straight
I Shall Be Released – Dylan
Bown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison
The Band – The Weight
Midnight Special
Winter Wonderland
Heard It in A Love Song – Marshall Tucker Band
Be It Resolved – Tenement Funster`s Poem
Sister Golden Hair
Rip It Out – Ace Frehley
Cherry Bomb – John Cougar Mellancamp
I shall Be Released
Forever Young – Dylan
Born on a Bayou – Credence Clearwater
I Shot the Sheriff
Country Road
Blowing in the Wind
Ticket to Ride – Beatles

Secondly: Suggest a song of your choice, one that you would like to enter for December`s FSOTM.  It can be a Personal Favorite, it can be an Original Song you have Written, it could be a Christmas Song, it could be a Song you have never attempted before and would like to try or hear others try to cover.  These songs will be DRAWN OUT OF THE HAT.

Look forward to seeing which song everyone VOTES on from the list and what SUGGESTIONS you come up with.
