Excellent Phill the perfect Christmas poem it gave me a good laugh. I just read it to my neighbours little girl she loved it. She even made up her own kiddyJoke about Narwhals eating Nar Nars when I told her what Narwhals are.

Welcome back Badeye, I luv the way Muddy did the Blues. It was clever the way the Brits turned the station into a concert area for that TV show.

I love the drumming. Though Robert Fripp doesnt do much on this track it just what is needed. My friend Robert Hall a guitar mentor to me and Easybeat, worked with Robert Fripp over in the states on a tour and tells me Fripp is one very Discipline man. He didnt tolerate lateness and not turning up to practice, no alchol or drugs on tour.

Great lyrics and your guitar works a treat EB. This song is a classic I encourage people to give it a listen worth a go. It would be good to see lyrics written up.

Re: What's YOUR Guitar-Playing "Block",........ (12 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
For me playing guitar has been hard to do as I am not a natural. I have never really ever got that good at it. I use to get very frustrated trying to play scales and so on. Now I have limited movement in my arms and fingers when I do have a play if I get something out that has a basic nice sound I am happy. I most probably only play a few minutes a week now as I get a bit pain when I try and play even though I have pain killers in my system. . My Maree has never liked my guitar or piano playing. Even though I am retired I have plenty of other things going on. Music is only a small part of my life nowdays. I will attach a song for you Bill. I wrote it four years ago with my friend Darcy playing guitar for me about the frustrations, for me of trying to play guitar. Funny thing about Darcy he is a really good guitar player but he will only plays bass proffesionally in the many bands he has been in.
Good to see you posting .
Love to you and Dondra.
Your friend Pete

Phill I love the good old spud, boiled then mashed with butter then sprinkled with Worcestershire sauce. Another favourite, roasted spud or potatoe cut into chips and fried. I love the way British people call Fish and Chip shops the Chippy. Here in Kiwi Land we call carpenters chippy's. We also call crisps Chippys. Excellent poem before I read it I wasn't hungry now I have a craving for a Chip Butty.

Cheers Jandle I am pleased my video wasn't boring. Thank you for taking time to watch it and also make a comment. With Christmas coming up easybeat might be able to write us a gender neutral Christmas person song. I am sure EB will use proper gender neutral words so we can normalize the idea that anyone can perform a job, requiring a license to deliver childrens Christmas presents with Reindeer regardless of their gender identity.

TF I enjoyed that it gave me a good laugh. My mother told me that when I was a little kid, when she took me to Town to see Santa in the department store I would start crying because I didn't like the look of him. Maybe I new something not to trust a man in red suit that tries to climb down peoples chimneys at night.

Re: Jenny (12 replies, posted in Poems)
Jandle that is very sad sometimes when we hear peoples bad news. Even though the jenny's in our lifes are acquaintances through shopping or whatever when they tell us their bad news we feel it like we would with someone who we know better. You wrote that real good and here I am reading your words thinking Lord not another one also. It is a good reminder to enjoy every day and take a moment for those people who serve us in shops or whatever and value them because when you hear they are not going to be there no more it is an emotional thing.

Re: Spin Doctor (14 replies, posted in Poems)
Cheers Phill I enjoy reading your comments. I agree with you for the many an every day person who has forced their way out from being part of the working poor, there are those who would like to put us back in our box if they could get away with it.
Our forefathers who faught and died for the rights and liberties we now enjoy,I think would be amused by the wave of modern political correctness,
I worked in print for 45 years on and of. At the end of my career I noticed that political correctness crusaders were banning all sorts of words from the many University publication we use to print. I also noticed the government no longer mentioned job losses it became job restructuring. Academics were getting local councils not to use words like manhole covers and God forbid mentioning the poor they were now the economically marginalised. Oops I mentioned God. Yet entertainers, broadcasters and academics have become very comfortable using F*** bombs which to me lowers the standed of expression rather than raising it. I use to have an office lady who refused to call Maree my wife insisting on calling her my partner. The control of language to me is a way of establishing a totalitarian society.

Well written song about a subject there is no easy answer to. Getting out of depression is a subject that maybe more people should be talking about and then maybe we will have less people go down the suicide road. I had a suicide in my extended family it has left a lot of questions and much hurt wondering if more could have been done.
