Yeah, toots, that was great.  Never heard of him, but I sure do like his style.

Get a hold of yourself, Zurf.  Let it go and buy some of those others you have been eyeing for so long.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to get the songs from here to IPAD?  If that is so, then you probably have to change them to Chopro format them copy and paste to IPAD.  Or save all the chopro songs by name in a different diectory and copy them all at once to the IPAD.

I have the same problem sometimes.  I think it has a lot to do with the big glut of information on YouTube and customer traffic at different times of the day.

I do the same, Bass Viking.  I tend to speed up and slow down at different times, both with strumming and with singing.  I just really have fun when I'm doing it.

Thanks Bass Viking.  I guess once you get old you just can't get out of the past, music wise anyway.

Thanks, toots.  That means a lot. My dad loved the old classics too.  I grew up listening to Hank Snow, Jim Reeves and many others.

Thanks guys.  BGD, old country songs are fun when you're old at least.

My take on it.  Scales and music theory are important and very helpful to learning guitar, however, learning them is not mandatory to be a good guitarist. As Zurf said, many top musicians don't know theory well.  Bottom line: Learning them will make chords and lead runs make sense, as opposed to just playing them without the knowledge of why you are playing that specific chord at a specific time.

I'm still working on getting the sound right.  I think you are right Zurf, the mix is about as good as I'm going to get.  As I was recording this, I noticed how I try to sound as much like the artist as I can, not that I am coming close.  I grew up singing a lot with popular songs, as we all do, and I have always made it a point to try to sound as much like the artist as I could.  Just a habit.  But now that I am doing a few covers, I really want to put my own spin on it, but can't seem to let go of the desire to sound like the artist.  I'm working on it, but its not working with me.  I do find that it is a whole new world when I do think about it and try putting in different sounds.  Its actually fun, but then I see that red record button lit up I revert back to my old ways.  Practice, I guess.

Thanks Kap and Zurf.  Will try it.  Bushy, let me get this right.  You are trying to get me in trouble with my wife when I melt plastic all over her curling iron.  OK, I will try it, but I may send her your way if I mess up.  Actually sounds like a good idea.  May give it a shot.

I feel the same as you sometimes.  It is nice to have some kind of recognition, good or bad.  I, like you, don't mind being told I need to do this or that.  Of, course, we do like people to say nice things, but we can take the critics as well.  It does feel good when people do acknowledge our music and many on here are very good at doing that.  I could list the people I know are going to say something each time.  It'ws not a long list.  Anyway, keep up your end and I'll keep up mine and togethr we'll make it.  We are members of the mutual admiration society, after all.

I like it, tom.  Great playing and the singing was also good.  Check in some older threads in this forum.  Russell Harding did a version not to long back.  Maybe that will help.  Here is Russells version.  It is always nice to hear different versions.

14 drinks once a week works for me.  I know, coffee and alcohol seem to be getting healthier all the time.  Go figure.

I think that a good stiff drink in moderation is good for you.  Moderation is defined by the drinker.

A good take on a good song, bass Viking.  I like your low mellow voice.

I appreciate that, bud.  As a matter of fact I was down there at the airport a couple of weeks ago.  Just dropping off and getting out of the mad rush.  I will definately give that a thought.  Thanks.
