Nice work fellas....this could be an point of inspiration for all. I'm thinking there needs to be a Scottish equivalent set up some day.....until the International event gets scheduled anyway. Could be a world record Jam that one. Something to think about.
Watched the video on Youtube and it looked good fun. Good on you!!

Nice story mate. really enjoyed it. Felt like I was right there with you.
Good on you for having the stones to get up and do it. sounds a pretty cool relationship you've got with your bro. He obviously has a good eye for talent. Even as the pro in the family I bet he's really proud of you.

Short and sweet explanation. This guy's from my home town, Paisley (Scotland) and I've been to a number of his gigs. He's getting better and better each time, plus he's a top bloke. saw him with his full band for the first time last week and they seem to have a real shot at making something of a career for themselves. Fingers crossed anyway.
Have a look, and make up your own minds. Hope you like:

Topic: Wedding Singer? (5 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Got an unusual one to mull over for all you chordians........
I got an email to my Youtube account about a week ago from a girl asking me if I would be interested in singing at her wedding next august.
I emailed back asking for some more details and she advised me that they live in England (I live in Paisley near Glasgow in Scotland). she said that she like my videos a lot and wanted someone to play 2 half hour sets at the wedding reception.
Now, I'm hugely flattered but also naturally cynical and I'm wondering a few things. hence the post, I need some opinions
1) Why would they be on Youtube looking for wedding singers in the first place
2) Would I really be willing to travel that far to play a gig (answer: probably)
3) the nitty gritty: are they genuine?
4) Am I just a grizzled old cynic to think this may be dodgy and that I'm about to get asked for my credit card details "to confirm the booking"??
Has anyone heard of anything like this before and was it genuine? If not, what do you guys think???
Thankyouverymuch everybuddie.

Re: Games Games Games (18 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Kenny, thanks a lot.
Interesting development on this one actually. A guy who runs acoustic nights in a nearby club has heard this song on my Myspace page and has asked me to play at his club night. He's given me the option of a few dates too. I think it may actually happen!! Wooooo!
Anyway, sorry for the forum hog guys. Couldn't wait to share the news.

Hi Roger, my condolences for your loss.
Think this is a great song. The words are actually quite uplifting for what is traditionally a sombre subject, I like that.
Chin up and keep up the good work. Here's to another 58 years of good tunes!

Re: Games Games Games (18 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Guys, thanks for your comments. Much appreciated as ever.
Just to let anyone who's interested, I've now recorded a "cleaner" version of this. Just dusted off the old laptop and off I went. Bit of a process, but hopefully worth it.
I've uploaded the newer version onto my Myspace page. I think it sounds ten times better but have a listen and let me know whatever you think. It's aaaaall good!!

Re: Games Games Games (18 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Haven't posted anything in ages, for two reasons. Not written anything in a while and also, I got a new laptop and haven't been able to record a darned thing. Very annoying.
I've downloaded a copy of audacity which will get me by, but the quality isn't great. However, when you get an idea you have to get it down...as I'm sure many of you will know.
A rough copy of the song is on my Myspace now, any comments etc very welcome.
Cheers,
Mark
