I believe getting strings in the 12-13 range will give you a bassier soung and work well with bigger bodied guitars. and the 11's and 10's will give you a softer sound and work better on concert size  and smaller bodies. I would like to hear some opinions on this theory.

My friend Cam is looking to buy an electric. He doesn't know how to play but he wants to learn. He is looking for a nice electric within the $200 range. He asked me for help, so now I'm asking you guys. I'd like to find something for him that isn't cheaply made, but doesn't cost too much. Something that won't turn him away from playing. Any suggestions?? Anything would be a help

I'm more of an acoutic player, but I have played my fair share of electrics. I found that in th 200.00 price range Ibanez makes a great playing guitar. Tell you're friend that for 100.00 more, it will open up a whole world of very nice guitars and many different brands to chose from. if he ends up later down the road not sticking with it, it will be easier to sell the better guitar. Good luck.

Correct, there are alot of veriations for TABS, but if I were reading this I would think they want you to play the 13 and slide up to 14. If they wanted you to bend the note up it would look like this 13^14.

Jeff Healy is on that list. Graet list. I want to add a couple of people to it. Stephen Stills, and Lindsey Buckingham.

When my son and I play our guitars together we run through random songs, one verse, then move on to the next song. We call our band the "One Verse Wonders".

Funny how things work out, It's Rainy and crappy here too, except I'm sitting at work wishing I was home playing my guitar. Guess I have to be careful of what I wish for. Hang in there things will get better. I have no song suggestions, just pick it up and play whatever comes out!

I went with Elixir polyweb extra light 010 - 047  I'm not very experienced but these strings are easy on the fingers and soon good.  They are a bit pricey.

I agree with Tony, the Elixer Nano web lights are also good. There almost like a nylon.

Bob Colosi saddles is where I got mine. You can find him on the internet. He has a wide variety stuff.

Amazing!! I've done some things to my guitars, but I would never tackle a project like that. Nice job! Very professional.

Congrats! I love hearing new guitar stories. Epiphone makes a great guitar(you wont be sorry). I own a few guitars, high end to my low priced Ibanez,  and between you and I, I believe the Ibanez is just as much fun to play, I love pulling it out.

I agree. A bone saddle is the least expensive, best improvement you can make to you're acoustic guitar. I have bone on two of mine and I love it.

Here is my new up dated list. Ibanez AEL20E, Breedlove AC25CM, Peavy Predetor elect, and my newest addition is a Breedlove Master Class Custom A15. I would get pictures to you, but can't seem to figure it out.

I have the AEL 20E, I also have a higher end guitar thats a little newer. I have more fun playing my Ibanez. It has a great bold sound to it and stays in tune forever. For the money I think its one of the best guitars out there.

I'm glad to run into another Breedlove fan. I bought my "CM black magic plus" about a year ago and I have never been happier playing any other guitar. Congrats on your new buy and many years of enjoyment to you.
