Dave - I've taken to a very percussive style with heavy bass. It's almost always the A or D string that I break.

Zurf, don't worry about changing the strings. Tell the wife that all 3 guitars broke and you need to buy new ones. Your missing a great opportunity, here.

No way. I'm not getting rid of a Guild and a Breedlove that easily! Now, my daughter's guitar sounds pretty good for a free to me 1/2 size folk guitar. I'll hang on to it as well.  The last person who learned to play on it gave it back to me after buying a Taylor Big Baby.

Topdown, I could probably go a month at your house just switching guitars, instead of an afternoon like at mine. Ol' Reliable is still strung up, I guess.

Good luck. I hope it's what you want.

The string on my daughter's guitar popped, but her friends were over and they wanted to hear me play some.  Which is very cool, I think.  So I belted out a couple.  Boomer and Tiny have both got popped strings now.  I guess it's time to stop playing for long enough to restring three guitars - and I'll have to buy a set of strings for my daughter's anyway.

Haven't tried it and don't have any recommendations, but it sounds like it'd be a fun project. Show some pictures of the end result. Russell Harding might have some suggestions.

Sounds like a terrific time. The kiddie pic is a piece of art as well as a valued memento.

I'm glad you're getting good sound from it. I get a buzz from my Seymour Duncan soundhole pickup.

Will the rock choir movement rue the day that Guppy went electric?

Very cool. It's good that you know how to repair them.

New band...  Grah1 on lead and vocals, Normtheguitar on 12 string, rhythm, and acoustic lead, and Jean Luc Piccard on shaky egg (or perhaps he is a musician after all).

It stops - at least for the moment - when you get lost playing music.

Good gracious!  I hope the chemo meds are out of your system and that you are growing your skin back.  That sounds simply dreadful, and you are so matter-of-fact about it.  Your attitude is terrific, and hopefully contagious!

It's nice to have been thought of Dirty Ed. I wish I could have been there. I haven't been on a river yet this year!  I've only fished ponds, and those were teaching kids to fish rather than trying to catch my own. I think I've caught two new little fishers this year. I'm taking 10 more out tomorrow, with the help of a few friends. All girls. Not one boy has asked to go fishing. My little next door neighbor turns 4 on Tuesday. I thought about giving him a pole, but he's not ready for anything pointy just yet.

Good luck with it NELA.  You seem to really enjoy playing, so I hope those hand surgeries can be overcome.  I'm sure with your crafting skills and determination that you'll be able to find a way, even if it's not the conventional way.

I haven't been playing much - been very, very busy.  I am messing around with my guitar tonight trying to sing some old country gospel and I can tell you that even C,F,G songs in 3/4 time are beyond my reach tonight.  I can't sing, I can't pick, and I surely can't sing AND pick.

I believe it's time for a healthy dose of Dr. Who on Netflix and possibly a nightcap.

I like that technique of silhouette or partial silhouette.  The bright highlights really make that picture stand out.  Here's one I took that's kind of the reverse of it, with the subject all but dark and the background lit.  The subject is Normtheguitar, and the location is about a block from Topdown's home.

Doug - That's a neat trick to try, but I think she was talking about the autoscroll feature in the songs.  I haven't got any advice.  I don't know what it takes for a song to get the auto-scroll.  I wish I could help, but I just haven't got the answer.

Friends are more valuable than guitars.

Some friends are more valuable than guitars.

Some friends are more valuable than most guitars.

Some friends are more valuable than most guitars, but not your last guitar.

Eh, you probably should have kept it.

How nice of you to buy a favorite so that you can give it away.  I think your friend will be pleased.

I keep BenGay handy and take a baby aspirin every day.

Sorry you're having a flare up.

Zurf what are you playing?,sounds like your kid are getting revenge.

We were at the archery range. I use balloons taped to the targets as a training tool for the kids. It's more of a reward to pop a balloon than to hit a cricle on a piece of paper.  There's also 3D range through the woods with different stations to shoot at foam rubber statues of animals. We aren't hunters, but the varying terrain, chance to walk in the woods, and other aspects makes the 3D course a different challenge from the field targets.
