I am sure the only budget cuts we will see in the future will come from our wallets.

Just one of the problems we face when we play with a better guitarist, which is most of the time for me.

Actually, Jerome, the government sucks more than twice these days.

Maybe Martin and Gibson should start planting their own trees.

I wish everyone well through the coming hurricane.  Be safe.  Don't do anything stupid, like ride it out with a hurricane party.  Good luck.

I have also been dabbling in Wild World and Everybodys Talkin like Zguitar and Zurf.  Hey Bushy, pretty neat song huh?  As you can see, you don't have to be very good to do the YouTube thing.  And it is a lot of fun.  I am learning a lot about myself, just watching me back.  For instance, I tend to sing lower than I think I am and I also tend to sing slower than I think I am.  Watching these back, I find I can make adjustments for some of the things I am doing.  It can all only make me better, I hope.  Give it a go Bushy.

You go, all you potential Martin owners.  You will not be sorry.  A Martin will change the way you hear music.

I tried the capo.  To keep it high, but within my range, I have to capo the 4thh fret.  This puts the intro too far up on the neck (12th thru 15th fret) which is difficult without a cutaway.  I've tried lowering the chords but that messes up the intro.  I'll get it.  Thanks toots.  I just tried all these after reading your post.

I am working on Pancho and Lefty by Willie Nelson, but having trouble getting the intro smooth.  And also working on Harvest Moon by Neil Young.  Got the intro on that one down, but having trouble singing as high as it needs to be.  I sing it down an octave and it is too low.

Instead of trying to copy from someone elses songbook, try going to songs or artists and find the song there and then copy it over to your songbook.  I'm not sure why this can not be done from another songbook, but give it a try.

I just need to dig it back up and learn it.  It might take awhile.

I think Russell is right, dino.  Didn't you have trouble viewing mine also?  Russell, I like your arangement.  It's good to put some personal stuff in there.  I'm slowly learning that.

Way to go Russell.  I love that song.  As a matter of fact, I got the chords to it some time back, with the intention of learning it, but never got around to it.  Good job.

Jerry, that's a fine looking family you have there. And as Jamie says, The cottage looks like a great place to play and drink a few.

Thanks Amy.  I will check into those ideas for sure.  I do know I have a long way to go.  This is just a start, but I sure am having fun.  I have learned a lot of things about my singing and playing from watching my videos.  That's a good thing.  And I do know now that it is easier to play in front of people than wait for that red recording light to come on.  Sometimes it flusters me so much that I end up redoing the song about 5 times.  That's nerve racking.

In hopes I am not over doing a bad thing, I wanted to post one more song that Charlie Landsborough did, called "I Will Love You All My Life".

Sorry to hear about Marion.  Hope she fares well.  But a new guitar, by the lake, with the wife and some beer.  Hey, life takes a good turn.

In an effort to make my sound better, I noticed that if I sing directly into the mic, it sounds better, or if I put the mic directly in front of the guitar, it sounds better.  So far I am placing the mic somewhere in between, but I know the sound can be better.  So, this brings to mind using two mics, but the PC will only recognize one or the other, if I am reading correctly.  Keep in mind I am using a USB mic (they have come a long way and sound great).  Is there software available that will allow me to use two USB mics?  Or do I need a mixer.  And will a simple mixer work well with the computer?  I really want to do better, but I need help.
