I was going to ask what type of paint you used but since you said Honda I guess auto. Are you doing any clear coats?
Jack
Duplicolor BHA0905 Avignon Blue Met (B26m). I didn't clear coat. I put 8 coats on. Wet sanded it (very lightly) with 800 grit sandpaper and buffed it by hand with rubbing compound. If I do it again I won`t use auto paint. I will just use good old fashion Krylon. It seems to be easier to use.
All painting to look good is painstaking, but when you see it finished it makes you happy ![]()
I advise to stick with Duplicolor and if anything you should use a matte clear on it if you dont want glossy. However I think a few coats of gloss will really make it POP. It will bring out the flake or peral in the paint. Duplicolor is a tough paint. Made by Sherwin Williams Auto division. I paint everything with that paint! Also if you want super smooth wet sand it with 1500 and then 2000 then 3000 grits then some rubbing compound. Even without c/c, it will be even more beautifull! You have plenty of coats on there so what you loose will not even be noticeable.

Russell that looks sweet for $139.00,I think you did the right thing let us know how it plays and sounds.I may be able too buy one also if it comes close too a les paul!
Dino, Rhondo has them at that price and then if you look deeper they go up in quality and only slightly more expensive.
Ditto on Letting us know how they play!

Russ that kit looks good, GFS has kits also. If you look at Jx3's topic I put a bounch of links in it for that company. Why not find a pawn shop or buy that copy on amazon and just tweak it? ther is this option also at Rondo music : http://www.rondomusic.com/shadowcsb.html
if you just want a guitar to customize. Hope this helps

Z that CSI segment was so lame!! bunch of paid models and wannabe's they should have let some real SABBATH fans in there. "OOh Im gonna pretend to get off on this with my diamonds and pearls on!" ohhh yea Im a rocker... BLAAAAAAH GAG CHOKE! You should see the comments on yYT for that segment. You can tell the band was not even into it that much.
@ Jerome We can only dream of a career that they have had. One nice note in the liners form Ozzy to Jack. For being the man I wish I could have been. I though that was pretty touching.

FINALLY bought the 13 CD from Black Sabbath. Opinion? ITS DEFINATLY SABBATH!!! Do I hear muical touch backs to classics, you bet. Here is my take on it and No I have not gone surfing to see what others have said.
1. End of the beginning / Black Sabbath
2. God is Dead? / Nothing standing out for me. Pretty new sounding.
3. Loner / N.I.B
4. Zeitgeist / Planet Carivan
5. Age of reason / musically reminds me more of Dio era Songs.
6. Live forever / reminds me of Dehumanizer stuff (again w/ Dio)
7. Damaged Soul / Just good doomy blues with early harmonica touches
8. Dear Father / Hmmmmm?? not sure what to think.
Overall, eight tracks for 10 bucks not bad price wise. Tracks 1,3,4 are my favorite as they pull from such great songs. Was hoping for a few more tracks though being as they have so much room on a cd.

Welcome!!. As all have said this is a great site. I have become very good friends with a lot of the members here. No one has mentioned it yet so I will say if your fimiliar with Skype, we sometimes have virtural campfire Jams. Its great fun and you really get to know people. As also has been said, we all have a wide spectrum of musical taste here. I am the predominant metal head, but I love many other styles. ONly problem is I end up taking Simon and Garfunkel and throwing in some distortion and palm mutes!
ONE AGAIN, WELCOME TO A GREAT FAMILY.

Pete, ever since I have been keeping a large bowl of water right near my heating intake (its on the floor level) I have not had an issue in my guitar room. If the room is dry, the water evaporates to it. I do not have to worry about a humidifier getting mist all over my stuff either.
I'll have to check this out. My intake is on the ceiling however.
Then sit a large bowl of water in a corner. if the room is dry, it will get H2O from the easiest place to find it. an open bowl is much better tahn sucking it out of wood.

Re: Barre chords - eurika moment... (12 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I think after reading about all the people here who have trouble with barr chords I am very glad to have started on a electric playing heavy metal. Its primarily all barr chords. I learned the "cowboy chords" also because mixing the two up make some great transitions! The main bands that comes to mind are Motley Crue and Poison. Mick Marrs has always put both forms in their music. CC Devile also writes this way. I know a lot of others have also but for the metal crowd they stand out.

Ask a guy at the music store how to do it.
