But get better in their 20's wink.

My SX strat copy which is plain varnished timber finish has always been 'The Plank', the new Yamaha strat copy is 'Hank', the Melody 12er is 'Mel', the Fender acoustic is 'My Gal' and the Samick Barcelona Classical is as yet un-named.

A great way to make new friends and get free food smile, well done.

Hi Russ,

As you know I have just rebuilt a Yamaha 'strat' and the biggest problem I had was getting a real good finish using aerosols. Unfortunately I no longer have access to a compressor and spraygun and so I am seriously thinking of taking the body to a car spray shop at some time in the future to get it redone.

Christmas 1958 I got a plastic 'Elvis Presley' 4 string guitar from Father Christmas and I learnt on that until the plastic frets wore down but then had to figure what to do on a guitar with 2 too many strings on it. I have just about got the hang of it now smile.

It was not foolishness! I was hoping that it would be OK as it is a very helpful way of knowing where the chord changes are, but I can understands Per's reservations. The copyright vultures have millions to sling at legal beagles so it is not worth taking any risks.

And while I am at it, I would also like to say that I appreciate the time and trouble you go to in helping Members find the chords for their songs. Thank you

I have just had a reply from Per and he is OK to let this stand as a one off but would be unhappy for this to become a standard way of posting chords. So for now it stays.

Hi Toots,

I am not sure whether this is OK or not (I hope it is OK) so I have written to Per for his views as his is the decision that counts.

I know that as a 'Beat Box'. I sold one to a gypsy boy during the summer so I had a chance to give it a try (well I had to tune it up before he took it [good excuse smile don't you think]).

It certainly was a fun bit of kit and the sort of thing that anyone can use to join in at a jam session.

Your post got me curious so I 'Googled' Pignose to see that not only do they produce a range of amps (battery powered, rechargeable and mains) but I was surprised to also see a guitar with built in amp:

http://www.imuso.co.uk/images/Legacy/Product/~display360x200/EG00934.jpg The Pignose PGG-259 is a deluxe mini electric guitar, finished in black with gold hardware, silver pignose volume control, a 24 1/4" scale, 22 fret bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard with a Pignose amplifier and speaker built into the body. The 1 watt on board amplifier runs on a 9 volt battery. A 1/4" headphone jack allows the guitar to be plugged into a normal guitar amp.

Hi Brian,

We sell Ashton guitars here in Portugal too. They are made in China although the parent company is Austalian. The quality of manufacure and the electrics are very good for a budget priced guitar and the, off the shelf, action is fine too. They do many packages complete with gig bag, strap and amp also.

Perhaps we can see a picture of yours smile.

Hi Chazmando and welcome to Chordie,

You really should write your problem as it's own topic as among other things it saves confusion. As you can see, Dino obviously thought that he was replying to Lormil, the original poster, when he said you should contact me again.

Anyway on to your little hiccup. You must have Chordie set to keep you logged in as you cannot comment on the Forum unless you are logged in and it is important at this stage that you do not change that. I can change your password without entering in the the old one so e-mail me (click on e-mail under my username) and we can easily sort it out.

Curiously in the UK 'sus' is "sustained" but I am at a loss to to offer any explanation why sad.

Hi Jerry,

I think that Professor Topdown has the answer when he posted this:

What you have experienced is a well known scientific condition in the textile industry known as texticular atrophy (or shrinkage). It is a well known fact that textile products (defined as the production of yarn, and cloth and the subsequent design or manufacture of clothing and their distribution) will shrink from lack of usage. This occurs at a molecular level and cannot be prevented.

Obviously he has taken the time to conduct a scientific study of the phenomenon and sadly there is nothing that can be done to prevent it. However I do wonder if he took your situation into consideration as, from a layman's point of view, steam could also be a contributing factor.

I am sorry to say that it contravenes copywrite laws to post lyrics on Chordie so it is not possible to post the words here.

The words are available on the Internet ( http://www.lyrics68.com/BATO-BALANI-SA- … CS/171510/ ) and I am assuming that you can understand them so if you listen to the recording with the chords that Toots has taken the time to work out for you it should be possible for you to put them in the right places.
