Wouldn't it be nice a topic about, I was thinking about taylor, martin, gibson acoustics, and prices, from low but good even on ebay, but that is only valid for a few days. We have to think about prices/people/and compare most of "affordable" (difficult word) price between 600-1500, I agree these are more expensive, but I got real expensives for finally a decent price. It will take a lot of time, but a great help can be other "chordians" who were also able to do good businness, writing down, brand, "structure" and price.

I never heard about the show you mentioned. I always go to youtube/myspace. You can try this too.

A processor I really want, is the one who can manage that your electric guitar sounds like a 100% acoustic. A lot of floorboards have a patch: acoustic. It sounds softer, but it is not at all a realistic acoustic sound.

First about the Rolling Stones and Altamont, I agree with SouthPaw, but for most people "peace and love" was that event SYMBOLIC for the "hippie period. The are still people living in a "commune"and I don't understand what such a commune really means. If you live together with women and men, there have to problems, especially jealousy about men-women-men. SouthPaw, are there still a lot of these communes in the USA?
Back to punk: this movement is far underestimated. Punk ideology is concerned with the individual's intrinsic right to freedom, and a less restricted lifestyle. A lot of bands today, are more punk than they realise. The legacy is that even today we can find traces. It was an amazing subculture, which had a big impact on everything: ART  MUSIC (still inspiring a lot of bands) FASHION, ATTITUDE, for a lot of people, it was like a "gift". Like you have always people in a grey zone, neglected, not being popular, outcasts and here they found a lot in this movement. They followed like sheep, and discovered similar people AND A WAY TO BE NOTICED!! The punk style was already there, it is called PROTO-PUNK, Iggy Pop & Stooges, The Ramones (I loved the fact that they all had the same names, like Joey Dee Dee, Tommy, being the only still living Ramone). A real forgotten fact, that IS crucial, is the fact that the sexpistols manager, discovered tht new kind of music in New York, after seeing the NEW YORK DOLLS. (He had a fashion store and was on business trip. He even became their manager for a short time, because the NYD break up. With this knowledge, he started to form a group, "THE SEX PISTOLS". followed by other European bands. History repeats himself an like always, bands jump on the same train. Yes our beloved "groupies". Is it me? I don't know, but since 2 years I live alone, before too, but I had a girlfriend (an independent Nurse) who was in fact only interested in bricks and houses. Old Doll, this is horrible story.
Even being in a similar situation, the result is always the same. Since my car accident  I am really sensitive about such problems and I am probably one of a few people who knows, not only what suffering is, but also the effect on your family. My mother was in 1 day 10 years older, and now it is so "frustrating" to depend on her, even the most stupid things, like washing dishes, changing a CD in my car, I am not able to understand it, and to find my personal limits. Day after day, I start to adapt me. It is to become mad, sitting in the same position, after 15 minutes, it is difficult to stand up. Standing still (like the guards of Buckingham palace) is a killer. In stead of execution me, the only thing they have to do is: STAND STILL for 5 minutes. I wrote this already a few times, and the main purpose is to give something back to the people, disabled, and to show them that there is still a live, how difficult it might be. About health, and having severe problems I call them "far from my bed problems"
You never think about itl, unless the very moment that a medical problem hits you. BUT ALSO ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND suffer.
You need to stay positive and if it gets difficult you can always count on me, SouthPaw (he is very wise and tells you what he has to tell in a correct way), there are more nice people, like Boot, UYK, Roger: DON'T BE MAD IF YOU DON'T SEE YOUR NAME. They gave me a "life", a lot of fantastic no selfish people who helped me a lot. There is also a motivation to go on. Since my membership day, I started really to love again MY ACOUSTIC GUITAR, electric vs acoustic = 20% vs 80%. Someday I will try to put a song on myspace, youtube, and it will be acoustic. Like your topic, I don't know what to say, but it touched me a lot, giving me also the opportunity to write a song.
