I'm thinking about doing this song at our next club meet - Louise, by Peter Siebel:
I know the Leo Kottke cover better (although it's not played like that). Anyway.
Enjoy!
Richard
Richard, I don't know this song, haven't heard it before. I went and had a listen to the original and had a look at the lyrics. Thanks for sharing, I have now learned something new (for me anyway). You performed it well.

Re: January 2025 - Anything goes for FSOTM!!! (15 replies, posted in Featured Song of the Month)
It's just a loop practice to show the band. I pre recorded the loop and then played over it.If I was using it in solo performance I would let the sound guy control the guitar and backing level. It's all going through a Roland street cube in the vid, but I agree the guitar came out too loud
Nice cover Grah1, you performed it well. Guitar skills came through nicely on this one and it was easy to see you were really getting into it on this one.

This is a song on my CD that I had an animator add some visuals to:
Cheers
Richard
Richard, I enjoyed that, and the visual imagery definitely added to it. I liked the fast beat, nice for a change. I did struggle to hear the lyrics in parts of it.

Richard, I like where your song is going. I am a Country and Western fan, so that immediately makes it likeable lol. Good question in the lyrics too, "do you still call an internet friend a friend".

Well, done Richard, it's always good to go along and perform for folks who are in homes. Great to see you supporting your mate with his song that he wrote.
A group of us used to perform every month at different Rest Homes for quite a few years up until covid hit. We used to do all the old songs they knew and could sing along too. They thoroughly enjoyed it, though we never used amps as quite a few folks wore hearing aids and the amplifiers hurt their ears with hearing aids, so we decided early on not to use them.

Re: Song called Empty Page (5 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Once again you nailed it TIGLJK, though I suspect in your case, you seldom have an empty page! You are blessed with the ability to write songs easily, effortlessly it seems and the flow of the ink onto paper never seems to be an issue for you. Well done

neophytte, that was a brilliant entry, really enjoyed listening and watching this one. The song really suited you vocally and the harmonica and auto harp are a great addition to the guitar. I agree, it has a folky feel to it. Thumbs up from me

Grah1 and neophytte, I just relistened to this song and I have to say it's a really great song. The lyrics Grah1 are well written and quite sad, kinda tug at the heart stuff, great job. neophytte, you really performed this one well, your vocals were spot on for this one as was the guitar, you performed it really well.

I haven't heard of this song before neo, first time I am hearing it. With that said, it suited your vocals well and you played it well too.

Re: Don't Need AI (35 replies, posted in My local band and me)
That was clever with the voice over bits Peatle, well done. I have mixed feelings about AI myself. I think I prefer the human touch and human thoughts, ideas with song writing and performance. Having said that, I think it is very clever what AI can do.

Enjoy!
Richard (the cat caught the fly!!)

Now that is a song I haven't heard in a very long time. I have to say the guitar playing on this was great neophytte. Is that a different guitar?

Re: NOVEMBER 2024 – RANDOM WORDS (16 replies, posted in Featured Song of the Month)
Jandle wrote:neophytte, nicely performed on this cover. Interesting the effect to your vocals on this one, what program were you using on the vocals?
Thanks - depending where I was in my recording history (6 years ago), I either used the inbuilt effects of iMovie, or it might have been later when I switched over to using LogicX for the audio, then importing that into iMovie for the video editing.
Cheers
Richard
Ok thanks for that, I haven't used either of those, but always good to learn about programs like that.
