Artless I really would not suggest that. Our cabin, picnic tables, my new truck were all coated in embers - they shot out to a radius of 40' or so.

You got it bunbun. We also used beans...explosion not nearly as good though. Had embers spread over 40 feet or so. Was really dumb'in retrospect.

Just got back from a camping trip with the family. My father in law told me that if you put a can of corn in the fire that the explosion is ridiculous. He was right. Damn near burned the cabin down! If you don't want to wait you can ffwd to 5.30 to see the big boom.

Bdim/E I like to substitute a diminished chord with the dominant 7th a major third beneath it, omitting root notes. The notes in a Bdim are B D F Ab. Looks a bit like a G7alt, right? (The notes in a G7 are G B D F) . You can play the Bdim/E as a G7 barre chord with a low e root. Also don't play the high e string or use your pinky to fret the Ab on the high e string:

All that said, the reason Georgia sounds cool with all these funky chords is the voice leading, so if you are just trying to drop in and out of these chords without the correct motion it will probably sound goofy.

Downstrokes only, upstrokes only, alternating downstrokes and upstrokes in quarter notes, eighths and 16th to start.
Then try some drills where the metronome doesnt tick on the quarter note - it ticks on the half note, the whole note, or every other whole note. This will help you internalize tempo.

Fretboards are very very slightly curved. If you have a capo take a look at it - you'll notice the curve on it, too. (Except for classical guitars, which I believe are built flat.)
Scale length refers to the overall length of the guitar from the saddle to the nut. Gibsons, for the most part, are built on a shorter scale than Fenders. This means a couple of things:
1. Shorter distance between frets.
2. Lower string tension.
Add to this list the shape of the neck. I have a few thin necks and some that are chunkier "C" or "V" cuts. I've found that "V" gives me more to grab on to for string bending but they play a bit slower for me.

I have a SSS custom Strat style guitar and I have big time EQ issues when alternating between it and my Guild Starfire IV - the Guild screams so I have to turn up volume and gain when I move to the strat style axe, which is an enormous pain in the ass. I also have an American Telecaster with two overwound, tapped Seymour Duncans. I use them in tapped mode for rhythm, kick 'em in for leads and they're hotter than a $12 rolex. Just a thought...

Artless, you should practice the Am shape without using your index finger. You should also try the G major shape and C major shape w/o your index finger if your hands can make the stretch - it helps build dexterity in the pinky and gives you more barre chord options (I use the C barre fairly regularly...)

@Topdown it's one of those wussy coffee drinks. I was trying to be funny. Clearly that did not work. @Doug I have a spare amp on my Maxum 31' and love jamming on the lake in the summer, although before I had a bigger boat with A/C it sure got hot out there. @Bass Viking - Fremont Street is awesome. There's quite an arts district building up around there now, too. Very cool area of town.

Just wanted to drop the forum a quick note to say hello from Las Vegas! I stumbled across Chordie just yesterday after doing some research on Guitar Control. It looked like a BS scam to me, and based upon feedback from the members here, I am confident in my assessment!
Anyway, I live in Vegas, from Chicago originally. I play mostly blues and southern rock. I have a degree in music and I love mochachinos and long walks on the beach (j/k). I look forward to contributing.
