I'm not sure what has moved Bill from participating, I'm hoping its not his or Dondra's health, but I know I sure miss his posts.
Hope he returns soon

lol

AS I sit here looking at my guitars after reading this -   I'm pretty sue I should be limited to one entry level six string,  and  my wife would chirp in - "and absolutely no  microphones for singing!" smile

If falcons run the ball three times in a row up the middle after that great Julio jones catch it would've either eaten 3 minutes off clock or used all NE timeouts. In position for easy fg

Instead they pass, get sacked on a pass, have ten yard hold penalty on a pass - and out of fg position

Just stupid play calling

Also that idiot that tried to run ball out of end zone on kick off and stuck them on the 12 instead of 25 wasn't too brilliant either.

For a minute there I thought the song was
Amy, take me home.

Well - I knew there was something missing from it -- finally figured it out
I added the last verse that tied the whole thing together.
To me it finishes the never ending story of the song - if that makes sense

I will  try to redo it and put it on soundcloud later

JJJ
I am hopeful that everything in your life begins to travel down a path of newfound happiness and meaning.
We all have crosses to bear and problems to resolve, and it certainly is easier if you have a support system of friends and family.
Wishing you the best in your recovery . remember that the greatest journeys that ever happened began with a first step.
Just like getting a new guitar - which I know you excel at-  may your first steps be those of excitement and joy - in celebration of a new beginning.
Change is not always easy - but stick to your goals - you can do it!
I am sure I speak for all the Chordie members on here-  we wish you nothing but the best !
peace, prayers,  and warm regards for you

Wrote this song last night and today..... about how tough it is to break through into country music.( and how some spend their whole lives trying to do it ) I tried to be a little bit clever by putting some double entendre  interpretations in there- hope it works) smile

[song]
{t: Just Outside of Nashville}

Oh [C] the  Tennessee night time wind
is  [Am]  calling   my name   once again
[F] hoping for something better  this time
maybe [G] catch  a break  every now and then
And [C]now I'm  just outside of Nashville
I can[Am] see  the  glow of the city lights
[F]It's been a  long , lonely  journey
With  too [G] many painful heart break  nights

Chorus
But [F]I've got my songs and my old guitar
[C] Fifty dollars and  a beat up car
[F] A bottle of Jack and a thousand schemes
And  [G] a suitcase full of broken dreams
[C]  [Am]  [F]  [G]

[C] As I'm driving into Nashville
I [Am]  look up and see   the stars
and I [F] wonder if I'm like them
[G]  close,  and yet so  damn  far
and[C] now I'm just  inside of Nashville
I see [Am]a circle that is unbroken
[F] A ring of fire guarding secrets,  where
[G] everything but the truth is  spoken

Chorus
But [F]I've  got my songs and my old guitar
[C] Fifty dollars and  a beat up car
[F] A bottle of Jack and a thousand schemes
And  [G] a suitcase full of broken dreams
[C]  [Am]  [F]  [G]

Well [C] now it's  time to head back home
Aint [Am]Nothing more I can do
[F] Out of money and out of  chances
Guess  [G] I'm  feeling just a little blue
And[C] now I'm  just  outside of Nashville
seems[Am] every open door was closed
[F]but I know I'll  be back again,
when [G] that Tennessee night wind blows

chorus
when [F] I'll have my songs and my old guitar
[C] Fifty dollars and  a beat up car
[F] A bottle of Jack and a thousand schemes
And  [G] a suitcase full of broken dreams
Yeah [F] I'll have my songs and my old guitar
[C] Fifty dollars and  a beat up car
[F] A bottle of Jack and a thousand schemes
And  [G] a suitcase full of broken dreams
[C]  [Am]  [F]  [G] [C]

Haven't seen a country classic for a bit so I thought I'd through this gem out there.

It is unbelievable that he could perform.

The emotion and explanations brought me to tears.

After you watch this - find any video  song he sang as a young man on you tube and watch it.... it just leaves ya shaking your head.

I seriously change my mind about every 20 minutes or so.  Depends on my mood and environment.

debrap - Long story - but I had a late dinner with Harry Chapin back in 1974 - after concert  in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
Nice, funny guy - too bad his demise.

Beamer....
I am just an old country bumpkin so that when I saw your title, I was just like Roger - and immediately was ready to tell you The Band ( or Rick Danko) . Then I gave it a listen and realized it was nothing like that song, but it did stimulate my interest so I started trolling the net til I found it.

I just kept searching til I was on about page 40 smile of you tube and voila!, I  found it - it wasn't easy , but then it had become a quest ! smile
Glad I could help out.

BEAUTIFUL PLAYING - AND THAT WAS A HEARTMOVING RENDITION AS THE NOSTALGIC STILL PHOTOS APPEARED THROUGHOUT THE VIDEO.  I IMMENSELY ENJOYED THIS !  STIRRING EMOTIONS WITHOUT WORDS, WHEN YOU HAVE DONE THAT, YOU'VE DONE SOMETHING SPECIAL !

I was just having a conversation with my psychology class the other day about how when they walk down the street and see older people, they should remember  that we were all young once. ( i.e. Graham's Cloak of Invisibility song)

I also loved seeing all your guitars - sweet collection.   Do you still have your very first guitar ?

Anyway - this was a great way for me to begin Sunday morning at 5:30 am

NFL today - Go Steelers and Packers, although the left side of my brain is telling me the opposite is reality! smile

Thanks again so much for your musical reflection, it was awesome!

Jim

p.s.  I have no clue what a ditto loop is ! smile
