A friend got to play with Glenn Tilbrook at Ram's Head in Annapolis, MD. He showed me the video, and I'd forgotten how much I loved Squeeze, so I decided to learn a few songs . I have a comment and a question.

Goodbye Girl has the wrong chord. On the line "I looked around to find her" it's not F    G,  it's D     G.

Cool for Cats. That Eb just doesn't sound right. I've tried D# and that doesn't work either. The odd thing is (And I'm just learning) is that none of the Eb chords I looked up have an Eb in them.

Anyone have any ideas??? I'm still working on it. Next trick is to learn "Tempted"..

Thanks

Posting for band members rarely works. I know an old country/western musician who tried it and never got anywhere. I told him his best bet was to go to open mics around the area. I've tried it myself, with no results.
Oh by the way, I live in the Annapolis, Maryland area (near Arnold......ARNOLD??@?@??) and if anyone wants to get together for a little folkie thingy, let me know.
Well, what can I say? Keep trying...

I was talking to this guitarist at Guitar Center. He was a Jazz guitarist who had recently joined a country/western band (??!?!?!)
He told me: "Man, when I made a mistake in the Jazz band, they thought I was a GENIUS! When I make a mistake in the country band, they stop the song, get angry and yell "That's NOT the way Hank played it!"

My other friend grew up with country, and he does the same thing to me. I call him a music Nazi.

Does she have anything she loves to do? Does she listen to music that much, sing along with her favorite songs? What would she rather you be doing? Fixing up the bathroom? Paint a room? Spending more time with her doing......WHAT???

I didn't play any instrument while the ex and I were together, but she would complain about me building aircraft models, saying it was childish, and that I should go out "drinking with the guys". Yet she would sit for hours with a pile of mindless books (first science fiction and then spy thrillers) and not see anything wrong with that.

If she is into music, and has some favorite songs, learn them. Maybe she'll sing along with them, (If she can sing).
