i remember reading an interview with the band Slade back in the 70's. they said any up and coming band should get the loudest equipment they could afford. you can always turn it down in a small room, but if your amp is too small you cant turn it up in a big room. i've always gone by this and have a Peavy Bandit, 90 watts of pure sound. unfortunately the gigs i play these days dont allow me to turn up above 3. to get the sound i want at these low volumes i use a Boss ME 50 pedal. works for me. you dont have to deafen your self to get the sound you want.

hi chazlips.

welcome to chordie. please note we love it when people take part in our forums, but frown upon people just sticking a request or unrelated stuff on someone else's thread. the polite thing to do is to start your own thread which is simple to do, just click the link at the top right of the forum screen that says " post new topic"

hope you get your reply, there are many accomplished musicians on this site only too happy to help.

sorry, i must be missing part (or all) of this post. if it's a song request, you need to go to the song request forum, this forum is for members that write their own songs.

hi tgljk

i enjoy a bit of blues and a lot of rock. you've strung the words well together and the song makes sense and gives a picture in your head, which is what i try for when i write songs, visualise the story. i notice you haven't a web page, but i would like to hear it when you record it. let us know.

phill

ps. funnily enough, i wrote a song last night called "blue river" it's not bluesy or rocky, just thought i'd mention that.

hi jeff,

you wrote this about me didn't you?
eg;  i was working on something in my shed and i put a tool down to take a sip of tea, when i went to pick up the tool....i couldn't find it. two weeks later it came to light in the kitchen! i don't even remember going in the kitchen!!!!

my wife has a good one though. say she's upstairs, she'll come down to do or say something, by the time she gets to me she's forgotten what it was all about (she never forgets if it's something to nag about. funny that?) so she'll turn around and go back up stairs to see if it will jog her memory! it works sometimes.

yes, good song. full of meaning (specially to us older teenagers LOL) let me know when it's up and how to get to hear it.

hi tigljk.

i admire anyone that can write a song then realise that it can be improved then do it. but what you should do in that circumstance is to either delete the previous versions or to edit the first one or add to the first post. what you've done is to take-up a lot of space in the forum. could you please delete the versions you aren't satisfied with, the first 6? thanks

nice song by the way

yeah man, they look cool!

weather wise, it's actually been one of our hottest for many years, ir at least it was for a couple of weeks, then it cooled off a bit and we had some rain. most of it fell in one lump...wooosh! it's still quite warm though, or it could be me getting old and sweaty. i dont suppose anybody wanted to know that?

so what it boils down to is; even when it's dry here, it's damp.

FAO, the house i'm pictured standing in front of is John Lennon's in Menlove avenue Liverpool, i had the pleasure of visiting on my 60th 2 years ago.

I guess that makes the (almost) constant rain here in Wales a god send, as I dont have to worry about my boys drying out or falling off the wall for that matter, even though I dont have any space on my walls at the moment, nice display of hangers though Russ wink

i recognised it right off. what a great song, and such a swine to sing! it's kind of quiet, then just as your nodding off, it screams at you, then goes quiet again. Beatles fan since "My Bonnie" only ever played once on Radio Luxembourg, and i heard it, what a great day that was!

I am sorry, but I don't understand a word of your writings or the links above. It does seem to me that you may be in a world completely separate from the one the rest of us inhabit. I must admit that I enjoy fantasy stories and have written several myself but I find no interest in what you have written.

It seems that you are into "Dungeons and Dragons" or similar. If I were you I would find a site where the members have similar interests as yourself, that way you may get more positive replies.

In the last couple of days there has been on the UK news stories of two of England's vintage soccer players. One destitute and living rough on the streets, the other has been an alcoholic for years but was fined this week for attacking a railway guard.
I didn't realise this had embedded itself in my subconscious until this song suddenly appeared tonight, when I thought I'd run out of songs. But here it is. The recording is on it's way.

Tough Love.Undefined

[D] Nights are cold. I gave-up chasing dreams.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [G] everything it [D] seems.

[D] Days are long. And rain is falling strong.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [G] everything it [D] seems.

(CHORUS)

[Bm] Lots of people live out there.

They [Em7] run around they steal they share.

But [G] I'm not going to [A] waste another [D] day.

[Bm] Thunder, lightning, sleet and snow.

[Em7] Rain will fall. The sun may show.

[G] Tough love isn't [A] everything it [D] seems.

[D] Money is tight. I gave-up chasing coins.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [G] everything it [D] seems.

[D] Work is hard. And jobs are few and far.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [G] everything it [D] seems.

(CHORUS)

||: [C] Tough love. Oh, [G] tough love.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [A] everything it [D] seems:||

[D] Wine is bad. I drink until I drop.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [G] everything it [D] seems.

[D] I'm locked in here. To save me from my-self.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [G] everything it [D] seems.

[Bm] Lots of people live out there.

They [Em7] run around. They steal they share.

But [G] I'm not going to [A] waste another [D] drop.

My [Bm] life is pain, I just can't sleep.

[Em] In my head the pain runs deep.

Just [G] one drink and [A] I'll be back [D] again.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [A] everything it [D] seems.

||: [C] Tough love. Oh, [G] Tough love.

[Em7] Tough love isn't [A] everything it [D] seems:||
