I've been toying around with the chord progression:

F, F7, C, G (repeat)

What do you guys think? Haven't written lyrics to it yet.

Why are the strings on an acoustic guitar spaced farther apart than on an electric?  It is very hard for me to play acoustic, simply because I'm not used to it.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be easier to make the strings uniform in spacing, like some kind of standard that all guitar manufacturers must follow?

Sorry SixString, this phrase is usually attributed to Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution, suggesting that, as there was a shortage of bread the commoners should eat cake instead. However there is much doubt and speculation as to who actually coined the phrase but Joan of Arc does not get a mention I'm afraid.

In spite of that it is still a good name for a band.

Roger

So I got the wrong historical French figure.  My bad.

How do you get enough volume with fingerpicking.  My technique is okay, but it's just not loud enough.  This can be solved on my electric, for the volume knob, but my acoustic is not so audible.  Any suggestions?

Johnny Ramone is a great testament to how much it doesn't matter how you strum.  He ALWAYS did dowstrokes and sounded amazing.

Other brothers in the same band I know of are Benjamin (guitar) and Brandon(bass, keyboards, vocals) Curtis of the band Secret Machines, although Benjamin Curtis left the band to wok more on his other band.    I REALLY suggest giving them a listen to anyone reading.  They are amazing. Secret Machines have no permenant guitarist, but the spot will be filled by friends on the upcoming album.

My band's called Mostly Milk.  A good name will just come to you.  I got this name when making a pasta sauce and realized it was made of a lot of milk.

My favorite band is actually a tie between Silversun Pickups and Secret Machines.  Amazing bands.

Willie Nelson is neither little-known nor under-appreciated.

"Little Lover's So Polite"  by Silversun Pickups (<-- My favorite band).
The solo is very cool.  The chordes are pretty moderate in difficulty.  For some reason, F# is hard for me.
Chordie does not have the correct chords initially, so you will have to find variations.  ( You should hang around the 5th or 4th fret.   I know; I have seen them in concert and he does not use the chords chordie says.)
There is a video on youtube for it.

To some extent, I think one must be born with it.  Of course, like any good voice, it takes practice, patience, and technique.  However, I think somebody has to talk in a higher register to be able to sing in a higher register.

This is the place to honor all the little-known and under-appreciated guitarists.

For example, Brian Aubert from Silversun Pickups.  He is great guitarist; everything is in time and just fits together.  Pretty good singer too.  Here's to you, Brian Aubert.

I play a Fender-by-Squier "Strat".  not my first choice, but it was a gift, so I can't complain.  Great guitar.  It is my first and only.
