Can't stop smiling this season. My Saints are 2-0 after two division games .Alabama is 2-0 after an threat by Johnny Football. Our local high school Fairhope Pirates are 4-0.
As a Charter 1967 Saints fan, I know well the pain of losing - but not today, baby. smile

For 20 years in bars I ran my Fender Twin Reverb amp at 4 (out of 10) if I dared. It had to run that loud to sound it's best.
On my 1961 Gibson 330 with P-90 single wound pickups, I set my tone on 6 out of 10 and my Guitar volume at 8 1/2 to 9 so I could play rhythm at a balanced volume with the band. All I had to do was crank the volume up to 10 with my right pinky to play a lead solo.

For 20 years I leaned my Fender Twin Reverb amp back via the two chrome legs so the sound hit me in the back of my head. This was the only way to hear all the higher frequencies as well as be able to tell what that amp on 4+ volume was doing to my poor audience.
My hearing is now damaged to the point where I have difficulty tuning my E and A strings. Thank goodness for electronic tuners.

Mark Knopfler has a lot of appeal, not only from his amazing ability, but he's also a very humble man ... I personally find that commendable. Here's a great 1-hour clip of him sitting in dialogue with his audience in between an "unplugged" sort of performance:

He's definitely one of the greats.

I only drink beer when I am playing for people. It takes only one to get me in the swing thinking of cool tunes to play. A second beer gets me up and more talkative. Any more than two and my skills begin to decline alarmingly.

Knew a lady who had two sons who were football players. Told me she saw them open the refrigerator and peek in 42 times in three hours.

Great, Tops. I am 70 miles East of Biloxi in Fairhope, Alabama. If you can do that, take I-10 East to 98 East after you cross Mobile Bay. Call me at (215) 895-4999 and I will drive to meet you. We can share my guitar if you would rather not fly with yours.
Weather permitting, I have a motor boat and a sailboat and a bottle of rum. Gonna pass a good time.

The last year I delivered mail, there was an armadillo corpse on a slight rise on my path to a mail box. Armadillos really stink after being ambient temperature in summer heat for a week or two. I remembered this fact and took care to alter my path to the box to miss the remains.
Inevitably there was a car that crowded me enough to watch him and made me forget about the former armadillo. I heard the squish as I plastered him all over the underside of my car.
Even techniques that remove skunk smell failed to remedy anything.
Only time-lots of it finally helped a bit.

It may rain here on the 4th. Everybody who lives here on Fly Creek has a horn of some kind. One neighbor has a conch shell and plays it well. Another plays an Army bugle and my buddy across from me has two nice brass boat horns on a power pole driven by a small air compressor.
I toot my Olds trumpet occasionally and I just moved my tuba down here and roped it to a fence. I have been teasing with the tuba and plan to mic it thru a 300 watt J.B.L EON for the forth. My neighbor with the air horn also has a super loud cannon. I plan to fire off 300 watts of tuba first time he fires it.
I'll let you guys know how much fun we have.
