Gidday Pondie
I dabble with the uke a bit.
When playing with others i find 90% are soprano players.
Don`t know why everyone buys a soprano?
Yeah it sounds a whole lot better if you have a mix of ukes.
as for baritone,i can`t understand.why not play guitar instead.
Look forward to seeing more comments from you,i know there`s a lot of uke players on Chordie.

Calloused Hands
Lived in this house for many a year
But lately houses been sold
and houses been bought
New people moving in
Lived in an average house i always thought
In an average street
In an average town
They think different to me
They talk different to me
They have different aspirations in life
I`m the only one
with calloused hands
The only working class guy in our street
They shuffle paper for all of their day
End of the week collect good pay
I`m the only one
With calloused hands
The only working class guy in our street

Gidday,
Could you clever people give me an idea of a very well known 12 bar blues song.
I`m helping a learner,so a simple one would be good.
Thank you very much.
look forward to your reply.

Beestie

Pat yaself on the back,ya lyrics are always excellent
Strum pattern / tempo/ chords aren`t  the answer.
U need to ask others for honest comments.
Reading your latest, i could hear how u were going to do it by the meter of the lyrics.
I think the problem is in your head, just need to change your thinking, not a lot though.

Peatle is right  FEEL is very important!Uke players go on about strum, where feel is neglected.

Gidday Bill

Just when i thought you are an amazing guy i see a link to The watchmen 1965.
That is great stuff nice bit of sixties music.
I also read you played with Joe South  please tell me more?

You off to a great start. When you get stuck for words ask yourself.
how/what/ when/ why.
answer these questions
then relax forget about writing a song for the moment, write down your thoughts.
hey presto  you got a song!
Good luck, look forward to finished product.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I set myself a task to write 7 silly/comedy songs in 7 days.
well i did 8.I did this because lately i been writing too many serious songs.
You`ll be pleased to know, it`s now Friday & there won`t be any more for a while(big sigh from Chordians) oh the relief!
Buckle yaself and hold on tight!

`Ordinary Song`
E# dim 7
Just an ordinary guy
Am7+9
Who writes ordinary songs
Db sus
Like to keep it simple
E+## Dbbb  dim sus4
Not trying to impress

Just use a few chords
That everybody knows
To play along , have some fun
And make a bit of noise
The lyrics i keep simple too
It would be expidicious of me
To conflagulate words that matter
Just to repositate you
Just an ordinary song!

Gidday,i was thinking of a subject that might get comments from the Chordians
who don`t usually bother to make a comment.Needed a killer title to get their attention.
But my post turned into this a kinda poem/song thingy. This is a deep subject!Look forward to your replies.

Sex Or Guitar
Hey i always meant to ask you
Which one would it be
If ya had to give up
One or the other of these
Sex or guitars?
For some it may be easy
To answer this question
But to others not an easy choice
On the plus side
A guitar gets better with age
Can`t always say that for a woman(or Man)
They get out of tune pretty easily
So i`ll look forward to hearing your answer
But please keep it true
As for me you`re wondering?
At this stage i`m non commital
A question like this
Is far too hard for me
