I'm looking at 3 different microphones to use with my non electric acoustic guitar.

1 AKG P5 Supercardioid Vocal Mic   $65

2 Blue Microphones enCORE 200 $89

3 Shure SM58 with Stand and Cable Package   $110  or Shure SM58S  $99

All from an on line store  .  Which one in your opinion is best.  I'm going to mostly play my guitar through these.  Vocals maybe if everyone in the neighborhood is on vacation.  I don't want anybody calling the cops  LOL.

Thank you,
Steve

My credit card balance should be low enough to buy another guitar by next month.  I'm torn between a Taylor and a Martin.  Your opinion please .  which one, with electronics under $750.00 and why

I already have a Fender (no electronics)  and a Takamine (with electronics)

Can I take this in a different direction?  Although we all think we sound like garth brooks Jason Mraz or __________ (fill in the blank) some of us should leave the vocals alone. Unless you are gifted, some of us just sound like a  Cat that just got struck by lightning when we sing.  Is there anything other than taking lessons from a pro to help us sound good enough to get by and not have people listening to make funny faces when singing.  I heard of programs that help correct your voice when singing.  Is this true????? Is there another way. I was told once I sound pretty good but some else asked me to stop I was scaring the children in the neighborhood.  LOL

OK What I have is a Epiphone Studio 15 R.  Google it and let me know if this fits what I should be using for an acoustic. It has separate imputs and controls like Beamer was saying.   I bought it with my Epiphone Les Paul.

PS whats the difference. elec - acoustic amp???

Thanks guys,  I founs it's not as forgiving as my Fender.  What I mean is if I'm off a little on my finger placement or pressure, the Tak let's you know it.  The Fender kinda forgives you a little and it sounds OK.

I didn't realize there was a difference in the amps as far as electric or acoustic. I'm finishing this post and going looking.

Thank you for your congratulations.  you guys who play Tak's what strings have you found sounds the best.  I don't want to do the trial and error route.

Bought it on Monday, Delivered to my office an hour ago,  I can't wait to get home with it.

I LIKE IT

it also changes keys for you and gives you easier chords only problem it make the singer sound like a chipmunk or barry white.  you can slow the tempo down ..  Im using is as I'm this message  It shows the next chord coming up and in how many seconds so you can get ready to play it.
color change on the type of neck black tan,  red..      metronome.

OK I finally got it to work.  It was my 10 year old computer.  actually you really need to try it.  for the guy that can't figure the chords or if they are not on our favorite web site this could be what your looking for.  I think it works pretty good . it even worked on some of my jazz songs like chris standring.  Try it  and get back to me.

Like everything else they give you a trial time,  This one is 30 days then you pay.  Check it out at Riffstation.com.  get back to me if it works for you.

Riffstation.

This program sounds to good to be true.  I tried to download the trial version and my computer started smoking.   Only kidding, Nothing went right on the download.

Opinions?

Is anyone using any of these guitar programs like guitar pro, guitar rig or any other.  If you are is there one program that is the best for a computer challenged guy like me.  I downloaded that guitar rig and I think you need to me an MIT graduate to work it.

Thoughts comments and advise needed.

Thanks

Have you ever reached a point where you feel you will not get any better no matter how much you practice?

I Just did and I hate it.

The song I'm thinking of is called DOA made back in the 60's I'm going to try and find it now.  Be right back.

All I can remember is it had sirens in the background

OK try this, tap on your guitar just off the area where the pick guard is while forming an Am chord or Em chord.  go back and forth between the two chords and listen carefully.  You should hear the sound change although very faint but  you should be able to heard it.

In reference to part to I strummed an E very hard then quickly muted the guitar.  the whole room had a, for lack of a better word, HUM coming off all the other guitars in the room .  Unbelievable!!

And correct me if I'm wrong but the face of your guitar where the hole is is called a sound board.

OK say you were going to play an Am chord.  position your fingers to play an Am then tap on the sound board.  then position you fingers to play an Em tap on the sound board. do you hear a difference.

GOOD no GREAT!!!!!! unbelievable.  kinda Jazzy kinda  Rock   has a hint of Santana.

I had a big smile on my face the whole way through that.  heheheheheheeeeeeeee

Oh I forgot to say acoustic guitars.  on #1  I don't think it will work with an electric.  Am I giving it away or can you figure it out. On #2 the room was filled with acoustic guitars only.

OK try this............  form a three string Am chord and tap on the face of your guitar about 2-3 inches below string #1 and 2-3 inches from the bridge or about the middle of your pick guard.  Now move to an E and back to an Am then to an E.  tapping the whole time.

Now Strum on the Am and move to the E and tap.
Pick a tap rythem other than 1-2-3 try 1&2&345. then.  Listen carefully, really carefully.  Tell me what you hear. You can go E-Am or Am-E doesn't matter.  If you hear what I hear it really cool. (doesn't seem to do it with other chords)

#2 I was in Guitar center the other day in their Expensive room.  Martins etc and picked up a Taylor and strummed  on one chord and stopped.  HOLY Smokes.  I did it again even harder. What do you think happened.?

Take a guess.  I check back later when there are enough guesss I tell you what I heard.
