I only own them.I bought them for others to use.I really have no desire to play the things.Mainly when other drummers want to play.I can say that I have a kit they can use.Although I did fool around a little with them.Probably have a better chance to be the next Buddy Rich than the next Carlos Santana  HA HA HA

I pay. Then if my house burns,I will lose a lot more than a bunch of instruments.

I finally bought a drum set for the music room. Why Joey you ask.Its simple.I dont want anyone leaving any of their equipment at my house. If it gets damaged or stolen,I will be obligated to pay for it.If my house burns and only my equipment burns,I would be heartbroken but I wouldnt owe anybody else for damage. Also gabbytrout has a band starting with her friends also.A drumset is rather hard to carry.I guess us guitarists have it lucky. We can throw a guitar in the car and call it good.Or a guitar, amp and a shopping bag with cords and effects.Still easier than drums. Now I have enough toys to supply a band with instruments.Yes I feel good.It felt good calling the drummer and telling him next time just bring your sticks.Happy 4th and good night to all of you.

Check one out really good.I have had 2 and have a silvertone acoustic. They were all caved in at the sound hole.Watch the action up the neck for height. If it is really high, look at the soundhole to see if it is caved in.

I aam so sorry about your loss.Especially such a long time friend,

I had the fishman one.Now gabbytrout has one.I hated it ,she loves it.My seiko quartz is dead and I have tried 4 different ones so far.Is there a difference between the snark and the fishman.A good easy to use tuner is priceless. Also,is it a strange coincidence that a girl named gabbyTROUT would prefer the FISHman?I couldnt resist throwing that in.

I had an eg 112 and it was awful.I thought if yamaha makes such good acoustics(i have 3),the electrics must be really good.dfoskey is right. You can pick up a mexican strat pretty cheap used.DONT rush into it if you dont have to.Cheap strats are out there. You just have to be in the right place at the right time.Mine was 200.My daughters was 170 +65 for a set up.Still cheap.Good luck in finding something you like

One of my fondest memories was picking up an ACOUSTIC bass amp that I bought for 100 dollars on ebay. This was back in 2008.The amp was in Long Island. The drive was 5 hours one way.Why was the trip so special? My best and oldest friend came with me to keep me company so I wouldnt fall asleep at the wheel. We have been friends since 3rd grade.43 years. It was more than picking up an amp.It was a chance to go out and talk about things in a way we havent for years. He was best man at my wedding. He has seen me at my best and worst and stayed friends all this time.Never gave up on me when others abandoned me as a lost cause. So the chance to spend a whole day on a long drive was great. We hit some nerves on each other sometimes but it was still a great time. One of the best days ever.Just driving to Long Island getting to be close to my best friend. We ended up getting lost in the Bronx once bit it didnt take away from the trip one bit.If I had to do it again I would.Actually I will drive anywhere to pick up an instrument just for that reason. It is more than picking up an instrument. Its bonding and being with the one who will always stick by you.Picking up the amp took 5 minutes once I got there. It was getting there and back that was so special.Any one ever run into the same situation?

8s will break really easy.10s are the way to go for me.I worked my way up until I got to a gauge that wouldnt break.Actually I used 11s on my electrics for years until they started to cause pain.It should be the other way around

Welcome. This is the best site going. If you have any questions, someone will answer them.Also.I love playing country but dont care to listen to it.Go figure.

Thank you for all your answers. Here are some little tidbits.I formed a new band to play with others, not out of spite.I still have been playing with a player from the other band. The incident was in february, the new band was formed in may.I was never informed about the sunday practices again.Demanding was the least thing I was.I played music I agreed upon, but not too much of what I really wanted.I am still on speaking terms with them. The misunderstanding was about a joke I made about killing my wife. One of them took it seriously. If I was serious, it is nice to know someone would have stepped in.Having a history of substance abuse problems,he thought I had lost it and went berzerk.(NOTE,I HAVE BEEN CLEAN AND SOBER FOR 19 YEARS).We were gone our seperate ways and suddenly I am invited back Less than 24 hours after this happened. There are no hard feelings, but I am still cautious and cynical.I hope that clears up any questions about the incidents before this happened. My reasoning in leaving that band was,if one person got that mad over a stupid joke, what happens if I really screw up.Gabbytrout used to go there and jam with his son.I think everyone knows how protective I am of her.Thanx again.

Heres the situation.Played in a band.I was schrduled out at first. They would jam on times when they knew I was working and couldnt make it.Then in february I had a misunderstanding? with one member and quit.Nothing to do with music..Fast forward. Formed a new band.(still in the starting stages). The band I was in practices on times I can make it.I was invited back but on the times I was working.I dont think I was supposed to know about the jamming on my times. Now I got a lead singer(female).Within 18 hours I am suddenly welcome back with open arms. I politely declined. Am I being too cynical or is the point obvious. First I was treated like a leper, now I am welcome over. The timing seems to be more than a coincidence to me.If this singer didnt come about would the invitation still come. What do you think? Also one member is in both bands. So it wasnt a secret. He wasnt trying to start anything.I think he was just mentioning it

To Bluejeep, I always buy cheap strings.I go by the gauge the strings start at.10s for electric.11s for acoustic.I cant really tell a difference except for ROUNDS.Im not brand loyal.Thats why I have 3.00 strings on a vintage rickenbacker or my strat. My strings are cheap like me.

When they look dirty and rusty.I have worn them to the point they dont even sustain(One extreme case). One thing. If you see a brand called ROUNDS and they are dirt cheap.WALK AWAY. Bought 3 packs and every one was bad

Anyone who plays will most likely NOT criticize(i hope i spelled that right) you or laugh at you. There is no need to feel nervous. If you actually buy something the store employees wont mind.I am still amazed at the young kids belting out killer licks at guitar center. Also it is fun to watch Gabbytrout turn heads at guitar center.People are amazed to see this nerdy looking little girl play an electric guitar.Although it was a mean thing to do,about 3 years ago a young boy was trying out guitars(probably his first),And I told her to "kick his A**".And she did, and he put down the guitar and walked away.I dont feel guilty,it was just a mean thing to do.Dont worry about what others think.Anyone who has anything bad to say probably doesnt play because they werent in the same situation at one time.
