Well I came up with a less than perfect solution but it seems to work reasonably well. I just plug the mic directly into the computer and let it pick up both guitar and vocals. There's some background static and some audio jitter.

This is the first test I made with this setup. I know I'm using a cheap guitar but it really does sound better than what this recording might suggest.   I thought I'd had the whole song memorized but there are couple stumbles in there as well.

Sounds great!

I was a little surprised to hear English. I expected Portuguese or Spanish. Is there even much difference between the two?

She looks a little befuddled at times hearing her; guitar? through the headphones.

Try this Bill

Under the fretboard you'll see the numbers 1-10. These are all the different variations of a B7. Maybe you can get one of them to work for you.

Did you ever try doing American Pie? I would think that would be a good long song for the event.

Thanks Dino. Now you're going to make me relearn another song. roll

I hope this doesn't turn into an open mic format with a PA - I much prefer a circle with some good ol' acoustic pickin' like last year.

That was my understanding as well; all acoustic.

Plenty of sunshine this morning. A bit brisk though with a temp of 4F and a 10mph breeze.

NICE!

I may see what I can come up with but I'm really looking forward to your audio version.

Two years ago this month we had two snowstorms in one week. The first one on Tuesday gave us 22" (59cm). The next one came on Saturday giving us another 28" (71cm). You just learn to roll with it when you live in snow prone areas.

Going down to 9F tonight. A nice stiff 20mph wind tops it off nicely. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

I actually might be able to do something about that. I have a place along Shermans Creek in a community hunting camp sort of setting. It's a small creek and there aren't a lot of fish in it. It's in a mountain setting and whenever I'm there I rarely fish but always have a campfire. I'll give it some more thought. Maybe sometime in August.

I fished all those creeks, plus Fishing Creek, Beech Creek, Bald Eagle Creek, Penns Creek and Little Pine. There are a few creeks near where you live now that I'd like to fish. They haven't got the famous names or nearly as well documented as the ones above so I won't mention them by name, but you probably know some I'm thinking of.

Boy you really do know the area! My sister lived along Penns Creek for nearly 20 years. I spent quite a bit of my youth on Little Pine as well. There was a Boy Scout camp along Little Pine until 1972 when Hurricane Agnus completely washed it away. It was never rebuilt. sad

How about when the weather report is more pleasing we get together - wading or in my canoe - and do some picking afterwards?

I have a canoe also. Right now it resides alongside our little pond but it used to spend a lot of time on the 3 creeks I first mentioned. Early March in the Pine Creek Gorge, aka the Pa. Grand Canyon, was an annual event.

We touched on getting together last summer but it never happened. I'll take most of the blame for that. I wasn't really feeling like a part of the chordie community yet and was still in the process of relearning my way around the fretboard. I feel better about both now so yes, I'd like that. We'll touch on it again when the temps start climbing back into the 60's.

Pretty sure the powers-that-be are working on that. It was brought up in a couple other threads.

Not this one but I am selling my 2- 70's Epi 12 strings plus a couple others. I'm starting my Martin fund.

This is the only pic I have.

Wow! A '46. Will he have to do any body work as well, joe? Guess, it's a "none of your business, Bill"-kind of question, but I'm dying to know its value.

Well Bill,

Value is subjective. I had a fellow offer me $1000 for it 5-6 years ago. He received a resounding NO to that offer. I took it to the Guitar Center just for kicks around the same time. They wanted me to trade it in on something new and said they would give me a $1500 credit for it. That right there gave me an idea. If they were willing to give me $1500, they would probably put it on the wall for $2500 or so. The fellow I had look at it a few weeks ago said that in the right circles it might bring $3000. He also told me the market for used (even vintage) is a little slow right now. So it's just going to live in it's case (original) until I have the neck reset.

Here's a thread with pics of a few of my guitars. The '46 jumps right out at you as you scroll down the page.

unclejoe, I lived in Pennsylvania most of my life so I know how cold and hard winter can be in your area. The only thing I miss is fishing in the beautiful Susquehanna river.

Some of the tributaries up north are even better than the river. Three that come to mind are the Loyalsock, Lycoming and Pine Creeks. Spent many a lazy evening at all three back in the day.

Our snowstorm has been downgraded. Yesterday we had 4"-8" of snow in the forecast for Sunday night into Monday morning. It's now a light coating of snow, changing to sleet, freezing rain and then just plain rain. Looks like I won't be putting the plow on the truck tomorrow.

Go to the last post in the thread, like I'm doing now. Under the "quote/report" buttons you'll see "Post Reply". Just click on that and you'll have a blank canvas.

It's been a mild winter so far on the mountain - this morning its 17 deg.(F). Got the wood stove burning to keep the electric bill down.

10F when I got up this morning. Still have that miserable wind to make it feel sub-zero.

We have a fireplace insert for our main heat heat source. When the temps drop into the teens we fire up the little box stove at the other end of the house. Together, they keep the house in the 75F to 78F area. Sometimes AuntJoe will get carried away and get the fireplace room up into the mid 80's range. yikes

Most of the forums I visit have a thread for folks to share their local weather conditions. Chordie doesn't, so I thought I would start one and see how it goes over.

Today here in Central Pa. we have around 5" of snow on the ground and a brisk 20mph wind making the 20F temp feel mighty raw.

Time to throw another log on the fire. smile

It's still there on my win7 computer using Mozilla.

But I did notice that the "5 popular songs" box is covering the top line of the chord list for that song.
