Hi Jeff,
An interesting chord progression here, starting with a fairly easy verse and then a more unusual sequence for the chorus. It works very well and great for barre chord changes.
Thank you,
Roger
Thanks Roger - I admit that I kind of cheat on the Bm and Gb by not barring them fully across but I'm working it and they still sound good when I cheat. You are right that it is a good barred sequence going from Bm to Gb I think.
hi jeff you've hit the nail with this one ,a brillant piece of work ,its easy to relate to...
Great jam, Jeff!!!!! i really like this one
Hey Daddy and Selso - I was really trying to come up with a lyrical idea to match the chords I was playing around with so I thought, "What should I write about?" That started me thinking how I should write a song that someone might be able to connect with like a few songs that have connected with me and that's pretty much where the idea came from. I also tried hard to suppress the urge I usually have so as not to overwrite the lyrics. Glad you like it and thanks.
I love the verses, not too sure about the choruses yet, but then I have not picked my guitar up since I am just out of bed about half hour and getting ready for work, but all in looks a great song.

Hi Jeff - I also wish I knew exactly what it is about songs that is so endlessly fascinating or soothing or rousing. People never say, "Listen honey, that's our poem" or "Darling, they're reading our essay".
Somehow, a few words along with a melody can be a powerful thing. As songwriters, we all try to come up with magical combo of words and tune that is more than the sum of it's parts. I love the way little kids can easily learn a song, but remembering the same number of words without a melody is impossible for them.
Nice lyrics - would love to hear you croon this one . . .

Sometimes music helps me to remember.
