Hi Gregory and welcome to Chordie,
Audacity is an easy to use programme and at a very good price of nothing
. Russell Harding, one of the Moderators of this section has also some tutorials on using it so check out this thread where it was discussed before: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9397
The links for the software are in this thread.

Hi Pete,
If you are reading this you will be using your new password and I have changed your e-mail address too. The e-mail is easy to change if you look at your profile; the password is not so simple as you have to remember your old one.
Roger
Hi Pete,
Send me a private e-mail of what you want your new password to be and I will change it for you.

Hi tkent and welcome to Chordie,
If you look to the right hand side of the song page under Cool New Services: you will see Create Radio Channel click the yellow button and you should get the song.

Here is a crazy one from 1958. For me it brings back memories and I cannot help smiling when I hear it, even the title is a tongue twister: One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater.

Here is another clip of a left hander playing a right handed guitar which starts off with a close up on the right hand, fascinating: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1wsed … love_music

Or you could watch this video and learn how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F-ExQu4 … re=related
It is a fiddly job but well worth the effort learning how to put them on.

Hi Robin,
You will find, when you get your site up and running, that you too will have to be constantly vigilant for people posting unauthorised advertising. Part of our job, as will be yours in the future, is stopping this. Most of the people who do so have their post removed and are banned from Chordie, the very fact that Amy handled your case in the way that she did shows that she sees some merit in your site and was pointing you in the right direction of getting permission so perhaps in the future Chordie and your site can work together. It is only Per, the site owner, that can make that decision.
Roger
Hi Helena,
My condolences to you and the family of this unfortunate young woman. It is tragic when someone who has everything to live for is snatched away so unexpectedly.
Your poem, as usual, is wonderful and heartfelt and I agree with Kenny that is should be kept for the children.
Roger
Thanks Amy,
I have deleted the unwanted posts.
Roger
Please write to Per at admin@chordie.com and see what he says. He is the owner of the site and the only person who can give you permission.

When I was a lad and I got my first 12 string there were only two types of guitar string available. Wire wound for acoustic guitar and tape wound for electric. Different gauges were unheard of and my 12er had to be tuned to D and not E. However with the lighter gauge strings readily availabe 12er's are now normally tuned to E. Possible those who have told you remember the good old days when tuning down was an essential.

Whether you play the 4 string version of the F chord (beginer) or the barred full 6 string version (mutant), getting the index finger to play across two or six strings is not particularly easy and some of my students have the same problem as you. Postion of the hand can help, with the 4 string version I have the neck in my palm and with the barred chord my thumb in the centre of the neck. Can you get an experienced player to give you some help?
At the end of the day the old adage of "Practice, Practice and then more Practice" is the only way and one day you will become a mutant like the rest of us ![]()

Hi Natsumi and welcome to Chordie,
I suggest that at first you do not too involved in strumming pattern. Start by just playing the main beats in each bar (most commonly 4) as a down strum until you get the chord changes fixed in your mind and played cleanly. You can then progress to to more elaborate strumming and the sites mentioned will help you with that. Walk before you try to run.
It is common for novices to try to play things that are too difficult for them and they lose interest when they cannot get it right. Start with simple songs and master them before moving on the more difficult ones.
Roger
Hi Jimmy,
I have moved your post to the correct section where you are likely to get a better response.
Roger
Hi Chris,
It took a bit of finding on the 'net but the version I just heard was 3/4 and 80 bpm. I hope that helps. It is a great song and I will listen to it again when I get home (working in a music store at the moment surrounded by guitars - just to make you jealous
).
Please let me know how you get on with it.
Roger
Hi Chris,
As the songs are not hosted here, they are trolled from other sites on the web, Chordie can only display what is on the original site albeit in many instances in a clearer form and with the ability to transpose and print easily.
Roger
Hi Ark and Phill,
Great song and recording but no more than I would expect from two veterans like yourselves. The playback was somewhat marred by a siren going off three times but it was from MySpace not in your recording. A great collaboration guys.
Ark, now that you are Moderating this section I have some bad news for you..............you will have to learn ChoPro ![]()

I have just had to remove Toney from the Moderator team which, emotionally, was a very hard thing for me to do. Toney is the longest serving Moderator after James and I. He joined us at a time when Chordie, and particularly my Acoustic section, was being bombarded with spam, some of it disgusting and graphic. I asked Per if I could have help with someone from the States to give better time coverage and suggested Toney as a co-Moderator.
Over the years I have grown to respect his musical skills, his humour, his unstinting loyalty, his kindness and his generosity. Last year when I was burgled and most of my musical equipment and guitars stolen, Toney immediately offered to send a guitar to me and this was at a time when his work was low and he was short of cash himself.
There is one thing for sure I might be losing a co-Moderator but I will not lose the friend.
Roger
With the sad loss of SouthPaw from the Moderator team I have had to find a replacement and, although Toney's shoes are going to very hard to fill, I have found someone who has very different attributes and will do an excellent job. You will also notice that I have also moved some of the other team members to different sections.
Let me be the first to welcome the first lady Moderator to the Chordie team. Amy (mekidsmon) will be moderating the Song Request and Chat sections of the Forum.
Toney's farewell from the moderator team message is in the Chat section if you have missed it.

As a child I suffered severe and very regular migraines, in fact I never had to ask my teachers to be allowed home they could tell by looking at me that I was getting one and send me home immediately. My usual cure was to get in a darkened room, take double the dose of painkillers (after I had emptied the contents of my stomach) and get to sleep, as sleep seemed to the only cure for me then. Luckily as I have got older they have lessened in frequency and I rarely get one these days (I hope I am mot tempting fate with this statement). My doctor told me that it is the worst pain that anyone can suffer.
Roger
I have noticed that very often a new Member will make a song request and then never even have the courtesy to reply.
Jenny made this request on the day she joined Chordie and working out the chords for this song would take some time. The chords would be difficult to play (even transposed and using a capo) if she is a novice. Therefore I was not prepared to spend my valuable time working out the chords to a song that I do not want to learn for myself if it was neither going to be used or appreciated.
Jenny has made no further posts since this initial request so it looks as though I was right in not doing any more.
