Amy
That was great---- loved the girls - they did a really nice job!
I am sure they should do a rendition and submit it!
Jim
Typical Bob
Would anyone expect anything else?
He is inimitable
nicely done Phill
Great voice and guitar work.
I'm hooked on my lil 'ol Martin .
My Alvarez plays awesome...... but I am so comfortable with my Martin now... it's like what the others here have said - it's like it found me not the other way around....
LISTEN TO THIS - EXPLAINS IT ALL
Roger
That was awesome. Thanks for doing that.
I liked the way you ended it in particular. Quite unique and different than what I did.
Your voice sounds great - wish I had that ability.
and I must say - as I was listening to it on soundcloud, I envisioned your cat ......the one in the picture...... kinda singing it too - like - "can't wait for Roger to get home today !!"
beautiful creature
Thanks again
Jim
Good one Badeye - enjoyed the song
Bill - Van the Man - he is one of my favorites. I couldn't find it - but if I could - I would've linked to the song " wavelength" by Morrison. best listened too with headphones, and abit of wine or hemp. ![]()
Russell You guys play so well together - looks like the comfort zone is tremendous.
The name fits perfectly
first song I ever played on the guitar was the Sloop John B
Beach boys were awesome... very complex - and inimitable.
Thanks for sharing
Jim
Vince Gill is fabulous. Great story there too. Did you notice that the guitar must be one of his fav's it has so many nicks and scratches, but plays like a dream. That is the guitar that is up next on my wish list - a telecaster.
Thanks for sharing Badeye..... awesome .... you struck gold again!
Jim
I wrote this Song four years ago , put it on Chordie, and kinda forgot about it. I was playing it this morning - tweaked it a bit - made a couple lyric changes.
It is a real easy song to play chord wise, but for me the difficulty of course comes from the vocal perspective. If any of you out there with the golden voices want to give it a stab - I'd love to her your covers.
here it is
{t:Christmas Spirit:Wish You Were Here}
[G] Christmas Spirit’s on my [Am] mind again
[D] Presents to buy and [G]cards to send
[G]I've fought the crowds and I've[Am]walked the malls
[D] I put up the tree and I’ve [G]decked the halls
[G] It’s Christmastime and your[Am] not around
[D]Got me feeling just a[G] little down
[G]The miles between us keep us[Am] far apart
[D] But just like Christmas you’re[G] in my heart
Chorus
[C] Wish you were here so [G] I could say
[D ] How much I miss you each and [G] every day
[C] Wish you were here so [G]our hearts could touch
[D] And I could tell you that I [C] love you so [G] much
[G]There’s Holly and mistletoe [Am] all around
[D] Christmas carols, what a [G]beautiful sound
[G] glistening snow and [Am]reindeer paws
[D]Children looking out for 'ol [G]Santa Claus
[G] Angels said Christmas was a [Am]time to rejoice, it'd
[D] Sure make me happy just to [G]hear your voice
[G]Plenty of presents under [Am] neath the tree, but
[D] the one I want most brings you[G]home to me
Chorus (2x)
[C] Wish you were here so [G] I could say
[D ] How much I miss you each and [G] every day
[C] Wish you were here so [G]our hearts could touch
[D] And I could tell you that I [C] love you so [G] much
[/song]
Haha. Joe that is brilliant.
congrats man- keep it up !!
upsidedown n backwards
I am more of a songwriter rather than a musician, so I will give you my slant. others on here will be much more of a help in the musical component.
I loved the song. When I read it, I immediately thought of my nephew who has this ongoing battle with dyslexia and depression, compounded by alcohol abuse.
I played it through using this progression G D C G ( becaus e those chords are easiest for me
)
I think it needs a chorus that changes the progression up. As the song progressed, it was evident , at least to me, that the subject was reaching out for help in various ways.
As I was reading your lines and playing it through, this little chorus popped in my head
Em Am C G
Ooooh, I’m reaching out, can't you see, I could use a helping hand
Em Am C D
Ooooh, I’m reaching out, won’t you help me to make my stand
Em Am C G
Ooooh, I’m reaching out, to any kind soul still around
G Am C G
someone like you to help me rise , and stay up off the ground
quite simple, but reiterates the message succinctly I believe.
if you don't like it just delete it ![]()
If you like it , feel free to use it.
It's just my humble opinion, but I think you've written a really nice piece that is applicable to many emotional circumstances, where we all could use some help.
one last really minor detail - the line you use " i'm down hear on the ground" the word "hear" should be "here" you can fix that easily by going to edit. ( that's the teacher side of me coming through !:) )
Thanks for sharing and Welcome to Chordie !!
Jim
ps can't wait to hear you perform it.
May you all have a healthy and wonderful day of giving thanks, and spending time with family and friends.
It's unfortunate that many Americans now revere the " Black Friday" side of Thanksgiving more than the fundamental spirit of the holiday.
(But that has become the norm for most holidays now anyway - commerce first and true meaning second)
It is ironic however that we as Americans tend to over look some of the true components of the original historical event - like the wiping out the Indians in the years following that first Thanksgiving.
With that being said - when President George Washington first called for a day of thanks, it was meant to be a healing day. Same thing when President Abraham Lincoln made it an official government during the biggest cataclysmic event in American history (American Civil War). So today, when I see all the division occurring in America, as well as division between nations, it is a good day to give thanks for the blessings we now enjoy and celebrate with our families, but also to vow to make the world a better place, to show kindness to others less fortunate than ourselves. Whether you are from the USA or not, please take time today to reflect on making our world a safer and more pleasant world for our children and grandchildren. Enjoy the company of the ones you love, be kind to others and be compassionate to the impoverished and the deprived. Lastly, let's remember those who are physically unable to be in the comfort of our living rooms and those brave men and women in service to their nation.
If we were all more like this: http://www.msn.com/en-us/video/peoplean … spartandhp the world would be a better place ! ![]()
A HAPPY DAY OF THANKS GIVING TO ALL CHORDIANS - WHEREVER YOU MAY BE.
PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL
Bless you all !

Prog rock to me- is mood related. sometimes I can listen for hours, other times its hard or me to listen to it. I pretty much love Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Pink Floyd, and Iron Butterfly - not too familiar with many others , but probably if I went in my attic and dusted off the 400 vinyl albums there I'd probably find a few more PR groups I listened to in college. ![]()
Thanks for sharing your PR finds TF.
Jim
Beamer - left you feed back on the cloud. Thanks for sharing man !
Phill,
I caved in and bought a new computer it has windows 10 on it.
No issues yet...like it a lot .... except the photo story program I used on my old computer is not available for windows 10. I gave microsoft an unpleasant communication on that. But overall , the system is working terrific
Hope yours continues to be fantastic as well.
Jim
