When you get married, you automatically take your husband's name,When you're divorced you still keep your husband's last name unless you change it or get married again. Some women keep thier maiden name even during marraige...
I've always wondered if gay marraiges change names, and if so which one changes thier name?

Like this line... of course you might want to know that in American prison a tatooed teardrop means you killed somebody.
Anyway, good stuff some real solid lines here,

Drove down the highway on the way back home (very inconvenient livin' off a freeway exit) and passed a bank that sprang up sometime between 5:00 pm yesterday and noon today. So this song does the job for me, as I thought I might have written something like this today. Good job jets, this is my fav. line:

]It’s the super suburbs [Em]growing a fearful pace
[D]Watch out don’t blink might not [Em]recognize the [C]place

Awesome song Old Doll big_smile
[ s o n g ] at the beginning then { t: title } then at the end [ / s o n g ] (except no spaces). For some reason when I don't put the title part it doesn't work.... Also, you don't have to do it in the 'post topic' blank, but at the beginning of the actual post.
Hope that helps,

250's not bad for a nice instrument. Epiphones that I've played before have been pretty good quality, (they WERE mostly older models though), and you won't find a real great sounding guitar at a shop for any lower than that, especially after you buy the case and everything, so if it plays and feels good I say go for it.

This reminds of a scene at the the end of 'hitchiker's guide to the galaxy', (a movie which confused me sumthin terrible), where they were building earth in a giant factory. I would hate to think of heaven as a well oiled industrial machine  (I'm afraid I wouldn't fit in), but all the same this song was alot of fun to read.

I'm sorry, and I'm not being sarcastic. I'm not trying to alienate personal opinion and 'the issues' from music, but I know that on one occasion a song I posted turned into a debte over 'nashville numbers' and capos, and it was agrivating to me when a few people were really trying to help me out with the song.
If you actually WANT us to discuss abortion, I'll at least throw my two cents in:
The majority of people who focus in on an issue are 'small picture' people. They don't see anything wrong with aborting an unwanted pregnancy that's not ever gonna have a good life anyway. What they don't understand is that it is the first evidence of the idea that anybody thats not considered helpful to society is therefore useless and thier death, if anything, convenient to society SO right now its unwanted babies, but what if next they decide that old people in nursing homes are useless? Maybe that doesn't bother you either. But what if one day we get to the point where they decide people who aren't smart, pretty, talented, enough are not going to benefit society either? This 'good for the pack' mentality is what spurred the Holocaust and other great tragic events of history, and even though today's countries probably wouldn't stoop that low, we ARE opening the door for that mindset. America was founded on the principle that EVERY human being is bestowed with the INALIABLE RIGHTS (maybe you've heard this word), to life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. So even from a strictly logical point of view abortion is unconstitutional because it takes away a babie's inaliable rights.
Anyway thats just my opinion, I'm not stupid enough to think of myself as the authority on political ideals, and I know my viewpoint is kind of crazy sometimes, but there it is.

'when the man comes around' and 'redemption' are another two awesome Johnny Cash songs taken from scripture. Gotta love the American Recordings sessions.

When I first started picking I held the pick way too tightly trying not to drop it, but when I loosened up and relaxed it got alot easier. Balance it firmly but gently, and just relax and go with it, the rythym is a little different but you'll catch on to that pretty easily. I play using a pick AND picking with my fingers by balncing the pick between my thumb and index finger, and picking notes with my middle, ring, and pinky fingers. This allows you to do a combination of strumming and fingerpicking, and to switch between the two,

I have small hands too, when playing the F chord I lean my hand back some to cover those top two strings. As you build finger strength it gets easier.

Alot of people like dunlops, myself included, but usually for electric I use my clayton .73, a bit stiffer seems like than the gray dunlop .73. With an amplified instrument the stiffness seems to help the strings resonate to me.
On acoustic I use a thinner pick, I like the dunlop gels or the grey .63s, the thinner pick gets a better sound to me.

my first guitar was a oiece if JUNK, which I bought from cousin Bubba for 5$. At a time when my grandparents (who I lived with then) were not exactly supportive if me taking this particular instrument up, I couldn't get a-hold of one anywhere (being from a small town as it was), I was playing my dad's when he came in on the weekends. SO, I jumped on the oppurtunity not caring what it looked sounded or felt like just to have one to practice on. It hurt my fingers something terrible, but hey it was better than nuthin.

Well as far as barre chords go, it really depends on the size of your hands I guess. I have small hands so thier a real pain. I find them easier on electric, but thie not impossible on acoustic. The acoustic is actually a surprisingly comfortable instrument, just sit down witha few and pick one you have a good feel for.

I would say if you're wanting to do classical AND country/rock etc., go for a more standard acoustic, because while you can take a normal acoustic and fingerpick, trying to play alot of the other stuff on a classical guitar is painful and difficult. (Barre chords are bad enough without the neck being too wide, for me anyway tongue) The best thing of course, is always to try one out and see if you like the feel, see if you can work with it both ways,
