And if you hide under the bed, you will probably get a m,ean scratch from a mattress spring , which will get infected.  Sorry about all the bad luck, but you should just go out and do your normal routine.  Things always get better.

Good job Steve.  I like that kind of style.

It looks like it would be great, but then again, cutting into someone elses would scare me.  However, I am sure you will do a good job.

I keep a humidifier in my guitar all the time here.  Its a good cheap way to keep the wood from cracking.

I just read a good bumper sticker.  Thought I'd share.  Have you seen any good ones recently?

Politicians are like diapers.  They both need changing regularly.  For the same reason.

A guy is driving around the back woods of Lubbock, Texas, he sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style house: 'Talking Dog For Sale ' He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard.   The guy goes into the backyard and sees a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there.

'You talk?' he asks.

'Yep,' the Lab replies.

After the guy recovers from the shock of hearing a dog talk, he says 'So, what's your story?'

The Lab looks up and says, 'Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA.. In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping.'

'I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.''I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired.'

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.

'Ten dollars,' the guy says.

'Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?'

'Because he's a liar. He never did any of that crap.

Here they are, hope you know a lot of chords.

You'll do great, Guiatrpix.  That sure is a lot of beer to drink playing all that time.  Nerves are normal.  They make you do better.  Good luck.  Do let us know how it went.

Excellent Bass Viking.  It sounds great.  Good job.

If it isn't a constant struggle, you probably aren't pushing yourself enough.  I have been playing for many years, off and on. (Mostly off).  I, too, struggle at learning new things on guitar.  Especially picking.  You do have to push yourself and practice a little every day.  You will find yourself getting better over time.

I have trouble with picks also, but that is only because I started palying with my fingers the same as you.  I have just again decided to use my picks more often and that takes practice.  I have found that I like the jazz picks the best because they are smaller.  I bought some Fred Kelly Bumblebee picks thinking they would be better because they are a combo of a flat pick and a thumb pick, but they ended up being too stiff on the up stroke.  It's all in getting used to holding the pick firmly enough to keep it between your fingers and strumming softly with them.  Practice that and I am sure you will get the hang of it.  I feel more comfortable with that after only a few days of playing.

I do the same thing.  I find myself going through my song list and playing part of the song, then moving on to the next one.  I try to play different songs each time I sit down, though.  It's pretty common.

Whatever works for you and sounds ok is good.  I do ok with B7 except my pinky finger is slow on the bottom string, but I can play it without the pinky and it sounds fine to me.  Lots of us cheat on different chords and we get through fine.

Sorry to hear about your dilema.  We all face days like this.  As a matter of fact, "Mama Said there'd be days like this".  And of course  you are one of the boys and girls.  Time does not make you more special in this group, necessarily.  I wish I could ease your pain a little more.  Just hang in there and try as hard as you can to get control of your life.  And good luck, PapaTom.
