Thanks for the kindness.
Peatle- always nice to hear a song in different versions. Nice job!

Here is my soundcloud post of it -  keep in mind I am recording from a cheesy computer mic, I can't sing for crap, and my playing the guitar is quite limited - other than that it is OK I think ! smile
Hope you can listen long enough to get the message.

last night on the TV show American Pickers - they found a lady whose husband had died years ago - but had played in a band - she was selling his stuff

One item Gretch Electric guitar   another was a an old Fender AMp

Long story short - she wanted a $1,000 for the pair........ they called their guitar guru to check on the price -

guitar was valued at $ 5,000   Amp was at $ 8,000      I almost fell off the couch.

Incredible what's in some people's attic's and barns !

Enjoy your new amp !

Starbucks -  like paying for a Lexus and driving a yugo !

My friend in Florida made coffee at his house - it was an African blend - the best cup of coffee I have ever had - no idea what the name of it was however.

These are my thoughts

War may be necessary sometime, but the senseless sacrifice of men - never.
Bombing of civilians - never

These f**** up generals that think these boys are just something they can use for senseless slaughter --- they should have to send their own children first if they think it's a good idea.

It so often reminds of the Tennyson poem -" just follow orders boys"

Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd ?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack & Russian
Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,
Shatter'd & sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse & hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder'd.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!

Sorry - kind of a rant.

That is awesome !!
How wonderful that you have such a great relationship !
Your words create two pictures in my mind - one of you and your dad with poles at a stream or lake, the other with you admiringly listening to him relive those days.  As a father, some of my favorite days are those when my kids and I just sit and laugh as we share stories of the past days we've shared. There is nothing on the planet better than sharing time with my children. Thanks for reminding me of that !

OK ROGER -

your influence is spreading again.

I just ordered a fender 12 string acoustic.  I only got the low level one - just to see what is like and to see if I can actually play one. ( Heck - I don't even play 6 too good: )   but I just have to give a try ! ) Fender cd 100 12

That's very, very nice !!

That is awesome -  So cool that you took the time to help those kids feel great !

I would do that myself if I could play and sing better.

To brighten the life of a child - that truly a blessing !  Well done my friend!

Chappelle show was one of the funniest shows ever.  He was a master.
There are some  classics - if you want to go to you tube

I quote from his skits all the time .... he was a genius

Rick James skits are hysterical
Clayton Bixby - Blind, black white supremist - a classic
Tyrone Biggums an the fear factor - make your sides hurt laughing
Prince - - playing basketball - Blouses vs Shirts - tear evoking laughter
Player haters ball with silky - omg funny
Time travelers- LOL

and the list goes on and on........

If you never watched - go there - it's some funny shit !

Bill,

I just posted a song to soundcloud for you and Dondra. ( Country music can fix a hurting heart)  I wrote it a while ago. I had Jim Cristaldi from Nashville sing it for me. Thought it might make you feel a bit better.

Hopefully the mods will let sit here long enough for you to get a listen.
