I re-wrote this a bit and changed the chords some. I think it plays a lot easier and makes a little sense.
Happy New Year to all my friends on Chordie. May the new year keep you safe, healthy, and full of happiness and love.

I guess I would qualify as a fence sitter.
I agree with both TF and Uncle Joe - There is a boatload of advances that have come as a result of the space program - including many medical breakthroughs- our lives have been considerably advanced no doubt. But I also agree with TF - there is so much waste $ NASA spent $ 1million on menu development for manned mars mission - not to happen for many years
U.S. gov't pays some researcher $ 75,000 to find out why white grapes have smaller seeds than purple grapes ? 700,000 on soccer field for Guantanamo prisoners $100million in subsidies to the republican and democrat parties for their conventions every 4 years
My opinion ....fund good programs - cut the bullshit - help people with what you save.
Just my thought

It's funny , but then it's not.

Janis J was a favorite of mine - I remember how proud I ws the day I bought her " Pearl" album. ( I still have it)
Woodstock was an hour an and a half from my house. I was 17 at the time.
Think about all the great musicians that were there..... holy crap a concert like that today would carry a price tag of millions and a per ticket cost of who knows what !
I could watch Woodstock clips all day long.
Thanks for the run down memory lane !!

I chordified this for you. What a moving song!
Thanks for sharing.
I saw Richie Havens and (actually met him) in 1976 at my college where he was performing.

I do not know if it is different than what Phill or Dino said b/c they are way beyond my playing ability

Re: A Traffic Stopper! (17 replies, posted in Electric)
you can actually get this at guitar center online - it is discounted for christmas plus they have a 20% bonus off. I did the math - final figure including NY state tax for me would be $699
ooops I just checked - they are gone at GC, - only have them in Cherry and Sweetwater is more expensive - but on backorder ![]()
Sam Ash has them for 799 They will match GC discounts usually if you call them .
If I was a better player, and if I already didn't have one (epiphone, Les Paul - not his exact one)of these, I would buy it. I too hope it's a Chordy person that wins. ![]()

Phill
Love it... length doesn't matter to me - if it's good, the listener will be tapping that foot and singing along. ( as I was)
Pretty cool story; not being a musician and never having played in a band - it is so interesting to me to hear about what happens between band members. I would imagine it's difficult to manage so many factors - egos, abilities, schedules, commitment, who's songs get played etc.....
I think this song would be a great catalyst for discussion as many of the Chordians probably have played in bands. I'd like to read some of there comments regarding those experiences - both good and negative.
Thanks for another inspirational tune !!
ROCK ON FRIEND - Loving it !

KIR - That's pretty much how I play it as well
Phill - Thanks - thought it would be good to put an unusual twist to it.
Bill and Dondra - glad you liked it !
I'll try to get a recording of it when I get it all figured out and have some time - I'm in the thros of basketball season and it takes so much of my time coaching and scouting.

I have to vehemently disagree with your assessment that Robert is worst dressed....
any man that has a beer, cool shades, a great guitar, a "cowbell" , and a "girlie" calendar on the wall - in his picture- could never be mistaken as worst dressed. Not to mention wearing an apron sized perma-napkin just in case some shows up with some great saucy chicken wings- always good to be prepared ! ![]()
