hi bonedaddy, i looked back as you suggested and i'm so glad i did, i came across some names that haven't appeared here for some time. and i remembered conversations i had with them and i realized how much i miss their posts and their views.
as far as your song goes, yes it is well written and your thoughts are forcefully put. well done.

so regardless of peoples religious principles, thoughts and beliefs, we should all respect them and try not to foist our beliefs on those who do not share our beliefs.

let us prey that in this enlightened age, followers of all religions and non-religions can agree to disagree and co-exist in harmony and love. at the end of the day; surly that is what we all crave?

same here, i've now got 3 chairs, only one with arms, wont make that mistake again.

hi judymills, nice poem. it sits well with me at the moment as i have a granddaughter that has reached the toddling stage. it's great watching her and the first verse is spot on. and of course we are all too aware of the second and third verses. thanks for sharing and well done.

i agree with bensonp but disagree with the funster. i also have many years in the retail trade selling directly to customers quite successfully. and i always worked to the premise that if the customer has very little knowledge of a product a good salesman will allow him to think he does and by the time he's bought it....he does and he thinks the salesman is his best friend.

i often got customers to pay their bill, which they were adamant that they wouldn't while offering me a cup of tea! just because i found some common ground. i must admit i was good at that job, but i lost interest.

where politics and religion are concerned, always agree.

carpeted flooring and wall paper on walls and ceiling.

i used to play with a band that covered the walls of their practice room in egg boxes (empty ones of course) and foam (as used for  chairs & settees) when they could afford it.

i've been having trouble for a few weeks, i thought it might be my PC. i've cleaned out the temp files, and my PC defrags itself. chordie seems to be the only site it happens on. there are one or two other glitches, eg: when starting a new post, i'll be halfway though a sentence when the type line jumps up to the heading line, it's annoying but not to the point of throwing plates. anyone else get that?

hi guitar hacker.

yes, this is true, and i did pick this up but let it go as it was a new member asking for help.
we moderators all have our own ways of doing things and this was mine. i sent daisysam an email and informed him/her of the mistake in the hope that they wont make the same mistake again but remain an active member.

please dont take offence.

thanks dino,

my wife was all gooey eyed until they canceled one of her programmes to run more replays of the baby coming out of hospital.

hasn't anyone told them that women have been having babies for close on 2 million years?

i would remind you guys that one of the golden chordie rules is; NO RELIGION. and another NO POLITICS.

i saw a notice on the bar of a pub which read:-

IN GOD WE TRUST, EVERYONE ELSE PAYS CASH

my sympathies zurf.

i had the option of having a GPS in my last 2 cars but turned them down. at home, it seems i have a great sense of direction, it's when we're abroad i get lost, so the wife takes over, not driving, mind you, walking! it has nothing at all to do with those scantily clad young ladies, honest!

i may be rong but isnt that what the chordie editors are for? if you spot a mistake you can correct it? obviously having to work through a piece methodically to find the correct word or chord to help others not just yourself is beyond your scope which in turn disqualifies you from chordie membership.

i'd like to say it's been fun. i'd like to.........

i feel stupid saying this to guitarists but some chords are like a brother from another mother, they look similar and quite often sound similar too. for example, if guitarist 1 plays G , and guitarist 2 plays Bm you get the effect of Gmajor 7. it may not be technically Gmj7 but it's close enough for the layman not to notice the difference. another one is G and Em = G6. you can go up and down the fingerboard like this, spend some time working them out.

let me just say; the kids probably just thought "wish i had a guitar like that and be able to play like him" this is a fact, i remember thinking the same thing my-self when i was 14 and a kid came to school with his guitar, he just looked good, and i thought played good. he said he was selling the thing and i bought it. it was trash. it fell apart within a few weeks. the action was so high that it was hard to play open chords. i later bought a better guitar and taught myself to play it. then i noticed how mediocre he really was, not that i'm saying you are, but this is how kids think. so take heart, you'll be better next time

wide for both, as you say wide weight distribution

i was watching a programme featuring Albert Hammond. i was shocked to find that he neither wrote or read music. now i know that composing music doesn't depend on being able to write dots on paper, most pop writers don't; Lennon/Mccartney and many others.
Hammond performed a few of his songs, on guitar and piano, and he freely confessed he played totally by ear, he neither knew the notes on the keyboard or frett board, and he had no idea of chord names. i know i'm lazy, but learning the notes and chord names was one of the first things i did when i began teaching my-self to play. i'm still not much good but i know where to find any note you ask for!

i'm not knocking this guy, i am completely in awe of his talent and some of his songs must be modern musical classics, including "the air that i breathe" brilliant

i like the slippery neck on my telecaster, it's maple and slightly convex. similar shape to the strat, but that was(is) rosewood, so it's soft and i dont find it as slippery. i also dont like gibson necks as they are very flat and wide, they look great, but not for me.
