beamer  I I have read what you wrote 10 times and although I I can feel your pain , moving on sometimes is hard and is the best thing. I had  a friend who lost his  his wife from an unwanted reason she left to another person . Then at  college reunion he saw a long ago  girl  he knew who went through almost the same thing. Long story short, they got together to talk and a year later they were married. Sometimes when you think nothing can happen it can. I hope once you can get over this something good can come out of it for you.

I know one guy who plays a steel  string and he uses a Dunlap thumb pick and Dunlap plastic finger picks and he told me the plastic finger picks sound a little more mellow  and he has a Martin  but I do not know the model number.

Don McLean has always used  a thumb pick, and in this interview he is also using finger picks too. Does any one else use them on a steel string?
Here is a link to how you can see his finger picks:

I enjoyed Led Zeppelin's    "No Quarter" . I have seen one other 8  string guitar and then looked at several listed on Sweetwater and here is the link in case any is interested. It appears to be two extra bass strings at least to me. https://www.sweetwater.com/c1116--8_string_Guitars

The link for the band is so very good. I hope  both of you enjoy the trip to see them. My wife and I drove three hours once to hear Bob Dylan and Paul Simon who each performed for an hour and then they did another hours together.

This was interesting in how it started with an organ and more and more started as he sang. Good singer and band.

TF Muriel Anderson is exceptionally gifted .  She  also is great on a  true classical guitar and is more known for that. Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWEVKZYr8OA

It will sometimes depends on your browser and what computer you are using but usually at the left side of each page there is a delete button at the left bottom of the page to delete songs or the entire book. I hope this helps.

TF I hope you will like them as much as I do. Just to mention it tying strings the old fashion way dates back to when strings were different than what they are today. I use a method that is different and it eliminates so much extra time in changing strings. In short when installing treble strings you tie a knot toward the end of the string and still leave enough to hold it behind the bridge and once but up to pitch it stays behind the bridge.  Here is how it works :  https://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical … index.html

Leave enough sting to hold it in place and then later you can cut it off. I also use two index cards behind the bridge so it will not scratch your guitar.

Jim do not say never and once you get used to an audience it is easier.  I have done concerts and  they are easier than teaching properly. At this point I would rather teach classical guitar with the better students. First I teach them to read music  and timing. Later we learn how to play.

I  like his great clean playing and  enjoyed listening to him. Makes me wonder if he first played a classical guitar and migrated to a steel string. From what I read about him he is from Germany so not a lot of biography on him. Happy New Year to you TF,

Rock Island Line_Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee et Pete Seeger is great choice bad eye. All Pete Seeger did was play guitar so glad he did not sing he left that to those who understand blues. Thank you for posting this one.
