Hi Anastasia,
I do not really think there is any thing you can do but rest it up until it is healed.
The only thing that might work, if the cut is not too bad, is to 'superglue' it as 'superglue' sticks skin better than anything else. Several thin coats might do the trick but for heavens sake make sure it is dry before you play. You do not want to become that attached to your guitar.
Roger
Hi Korky,
I have just had a listen on MySpace. Apart from the fade out at the end (which is something that I hate but that is my personal pet hate about song endings) it is a great recording and I shall now keep an eye on there for more.
Thank you and well done to you all,
Roger
Hi Evsynator,
I just checked out your songs on 'ooizit' and I was very pleased to hear your version of Donovan's 'Gold Watch Blues' as I had not heard this great song for years and had forgotten it. Good recording by the way.
Thank you,
Roger
Hi Daddycool,
I hope you do not mind I took the liberty to add the [/song] at the end of your song to complete the special formatting. I also changed the chords to upper case to show the chord diagrams.
Nice love song, well done.
Roger
Hi Jeff,
Nice song, big sister will be chuffed with that I am sure.
There is an old saying "You can choose your friends but not your family" and you, like me, have been lucky to have siblings that are also good friends.
Roger
Now you know why I chose and stick to that signature
Hi Janet,
The song title by the way is "Beautiful" and I have been unable to find it free but from this link you can purchase and download the sheet music for $4.65.

Hi jkohney,
The first thing to remember is that a recording will never sound how you think you sound. You hear your own voice internally more than externally through your ears and everyone is surprised the first time they hear a recording of themselves.
Maybe it is not as bad as you first thought, try recording a couple of easy songs that you know real well and see if you are in key with them. It will also help you get used to you 'recorded voice'. Perhaps, at the end of the day, a few voice coaching lessons may be necessary, I wish you luck.
Roger
Hi Nela,
Had you posted this today I would have thought that maybe it was a wind up, so I guess you are serious.
I too have never heard of, or seen anything like this instrument so how about posting a photo somewhere so we can see it and perhaps a recording of it being played so we can hear it too. (A recording can go on Friends of Chordie if you have no where else to post it - let me know).
Roger
Hi CGT,
Welcome to Chordie. My answer to you question would be virtually the same as my answer to Mike. Sing in your mind and play, but in this case listen carefully with your ears to your guitar and experiment with different strumming until you find what sounds good to you. I do not advocate trying to copy 'parrot fashion' any artist but to put your own stamp on a song and make it your own.
Roger
Hi Jeff,
I have been 'In The Groove' today and got several half finished chores completed so feeling good. Nice song, thank you.
By the way I just went to look at your website to check if it was on there but I got a 'Page Not Found' message although I got to Russ's, Phill's and Helena's with no trouble.
Roger
Hi Liam,
Mike shyness is normal and natural, even with only you in the room, but it gets easier the more you do it. Remember no one is expecting a Liam Gallagher performance but it is great to hear the intended melody of a song, you can only do your best and that is all anyone expects.
Roger
Hi Phill,
The only thing you did wrong with the Chopro was to omit the [ song] and [/song] the switch on and switch off of the special formatting. I have put an space between the first '[' and the 's' of song] to stop it coming into play here.
Good song and excellent recording, well done,
Roger
Sorry Alex,
I will plead old age and insanity for that one.
Roger
Hi Badeye,
I do vaguely remember this one from the previous posting and although I do not like tea I enjoyed the song.
Roger
Hi Daddycool,
Nice little train song.
I have just visited your new website and had a listen to the songs you have there, good one my friend, I am so pleased you have now got them posted. I hope this one will be there soon.
Roger
Hi Liam,
Very good first attempt at a song I am sure that Viry will be over the moon, and I am really looking forward to hearing your recording of it in the not too distant future. Well done young sir,
Roger
Hi Badeye,
Nice moody song, well done. When are we likely to hear a recording of this one please?
Roger
Hi Lilmark,
Welcome to Chordie. Go and have a look in the Public Songbooks, there is a section there for Absolute Beginners. With 145 songbooks to choose from you should find some easy song that you know to start with.
Roger
Hi Vinnie,
Welcome to Chordie.
As 'the doc' has pointed out Chordie is a 'search engine' and locates songs that are already on the Internet. Please read my 'sticky' on the About Chordie section and Resources FAQ for more info.
Roger
Hi Mikeward,
Welcome to Chordie.
Instead of counting the beats when you practice, sing the song in your mind instead. To sing the song you have to have the correct beat and words are more interesting than repeating one, two, three ,four.........
It then comes easy when you do actually sing it.
Roger
I disagree with Zurf and Geoaguiar. To my ear light and ultra light strings on an acoustic sound awful (I feel that these strings were developed to be bent on electric guitars). Medium and heavy, although harder to play with give the full rich sound expected with an acoustic.
As to them being too loud and drowning out the singing I have never had that problem. I normally play with my fingers as you can get so much variation of sound by using nail, skin, one or several fingers, strumming or picking which you cannot get with a plectrum.

"I Started A Joke" - Bee Gees
"Don't Let The Sun See You Crying" - Gerry and the Pacemakers (Cmaj7, Fmaj7)

Hi there,
You need to go into your Profile and then Personality. Then set up an Avatar (that is what the little picture are called) but be careful as they can only be a maximum of 10K or 60x60 pixels.
Roger
Hi Albertocheets,
I have edited the Bobby Vee version to give you the correct chords and chord diagrams on: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.g … 20246.html
It is in the original key of F but you can transpose it to suit your voice and the Faug is only in the intro.
Roger
