Trust me when I say I'm no pro but......I'm no pro but you'll only get better when you practice vocalizing and practice playing and practice learning how to change the key to put it in your vocal range.
Hope that helps big_smile

Hiya Phill, I haven't been dropping by as much as I should so I wasn't sure who was responding. roll
Thanks mate for the read and comments. big_smile

It is pretty frustrating that I can't wrap my brain around recording. I find it more frustrating that I'm critical of myself which in turn creates the vicious circle.....Oiy Vay

Time for a med lol

Cheers and thanks my friend

I found these sites dedicated to the specific artist. It's pretty cool. On the Beatles page is a video I hadn't seen of Get Back just before their split. Man they didn't look to happy then.
Cheers

This is a song I wrote with some good advise from friend Neil Cotton.
Kind of a loud country Hank Williams Jr ranting song.

An Economic What TurnUndefined

[E]I'm a simple man and I live a simple plan.

[E]I've worked hard making money all my [B7]life.

[B7]I got three girls and a boy, and my wife is self employed.

[B7]So as long as I keep working there's no [E]strife.

[E]Then my boss called me in, at the factory where I been.

[E]I've got to let you go he smirked and [B7]said.

[B7]That this economic downturn has me thinking in the long term.

[B7]So I'd rather keep my profits up in[E]stead.

I screamed,

An economic [A]what-turn.

Are you [E]kicking me out the door?

A dirty stinking [A]what-turn.

Ain't no [B7]loyalty here no more!

[E]I gotta find a job, I ain't livin like a slob.

[E]And my wife and kids rely on me each [B7]day.

[B7]My girls all need their bling and my boy wants everything

[B7]And my wife demands a new dress come her [E]way.

[E]So I fill out resumes in jumble and a daze.

[E]But no one now is hiring, they've all [B7]said.

[B7]That this economic downturn has us thinking in the long term.

And we gotta keep our profits up in[E]stead.

I scream,

An economic [A]what-turn,

All this [E]talk is driving me insane.

A dirty stinking [A]what-turn.

It's like a [B7]cancer in my brain.

                Bridge

Now the [A]banks called my loan.

[A]All my credit has been blown.

[E]College for my kids is just a dream.

Can't [A]relax cause I find that my tax is on my mind.

So [B7]wifey won't be living like a queen.

[E]I knocked on the door of the local grocery store.

[E]Hoping that a job would soon be [B7]found.

[B7]I'm pleadin and I'm shakin, “let me bag them eggs and bacon .

[B7]But the manager just looked at me and [E]frowned.

[E]He said the time is tough and that my profits ain't enough.

[E]I'd love to help you out and make your [B7]day.

[B7]But this economic downturn is alive and it's a slow burn.

And I'm sorry but that's all I've got to [E]say.

I cried,

An economic [A]what-turn.

It's a [E]cancer in my brain.

An durty stinking [A]what-turn.

It's [B7]driving me insane.

Fade out

An economic [A]what-turn.

An economic [A]what-turn.

An economic [A]what-turn.

Coffee, Coffee Cups and Life...A great analogy. big_smile
Thanks

Kenny

No question melody. As deadstring says there were lots of tunes that I couldn't understand what they were saying but it didn't matter much cause the melody got me first. big_smile

Well I am glad the first link didn't work deadstring cause now we not only got to hear you singing and playing (Well Done ,you have a very good voice) but we also got a hilarious and right on retrospective view of todays society.

Turn that into a song and record it...It's a winner. big_smile

Kenny

Congrats Toney big_smile

Chaz Taylor has a pretty cool ring to it. What ever hand he grows up using I'm sure he'll be a great guitarist with you and his Big Brother showing him the way.

Happy Birthing Day to Rosetta. big_smile

Online search and found this, the chords are probably out there somewhere.

The song is called "Dirty Old Man"  written and performed by Valdy. This link also has more of his tunes including "Rock and Roll Song". You have to download them as they are wave files.
Hope it helps

Congrats Cam,

I'm not a Basketball fan but from what they are saying around here it was heck of a game and the right team won.

Kudos Duke big_smile

Very Cool Wayne, I'm gonna have to check the London Kijiji or paper to see if there is anything like that happening around here.
Great Concept big_smile

I wrote this because I seem to spend a lot of time wondering if we alone in the universe, or if there is life after death, or past life or a 4th dimension or I'm getting old and it's part of life to wonder. I don't necessarily believe in any or all the above but there are times when I do feel something is there.. but what? Are we alone? I wonder.

Done in the style of Pink Floyd with heavy David Gilmour licks and riffs.

Is There Anybody Out Thereby Ken Peters April 2010

[C]Staring out my bedroom window,

[C]Gazing past a full and crusty [Am]moon.

[C]Visions of another world,

[C]Rise up inside me on a gold ba[Am]lloon.

[Am]Is there anybody out there?

I hear you [F]whisper in the trees,

I hear your [G]haunting melodies,

I sense you [Am]laugh.

I feel your [F]presence all around,

But I can't [G]touch you as I'm bound by blood of [Am]Ma-[F]a-a-[G]an.

[C]Images of ghostly figures,

[C]Dance for me as shadows on the [Am]wall.

[C]Is what I see another world,

[C]A looking glass to climb through so I [Am]call,

[Am]Is there anybody out there.

I smell [F]your fragrance in a rose,

I feel your [G]touch when cold wind blows

Across my [Am]neck.

I feel your [F]presence all around,

But I can't [G]touch you as I'm bound by blood of [Am]Ma-[F]a-a-[G]an.

                                (David Gilmour style lead guitar for the verse}

Have you been [F]hiding in my dreams.

[G]Writing out the scenes,

To guide my [Am]path.

I feel your [F]presence all around,

I need to [G]know you but I'm bound by blood of [Am]Ma-[F]a-a-[G]an

                                                       (David Gilmour style lead guitar for the outro}

[G][G] [G] [G] [G] [G][G]

Is there anybody [C]out there?

Anyone at [Am]all.

Is there anybody [C]out there?

Can you hear me when I [Am]call.

Can you [C]hear me?

Can you [Am]see me?

Did you [C]touch me?

Did you de[Am]cieve me?

Is there anybody [C] out there!

Is there anyone at [Am]all.

Is there anybody [C] out there!

Won't you answer when I [Am] call!

[F] [G]
