The Sabine stx1100 I have is dead on I also have tuner funtion in my Boss br-8 digital recorder and it is identical with regards to A 440 with my sabine tuner I think I paid around $60 for it 15 yrs ago it was concidered the best at the time I think its cost more now, I dont know what the korg sells for but im sure they have a chromatic tuner like mine that has the same feature but more costly. KajiMa I checked out your link and I couldn't locate any calibration funtion so I think this is one of there basic tuners smile

I have a sabine and it has a calibrate funtion which is similar if you play a note and press this switch it will concider this as pitch and if you turn the tuner off it defaults back to A 440 (concert pitch) I dont know about korg but I would imagine its similar smile

Top,Randy and Cam good to hear your feedback yea I ain't ready for the old folks home yet got some rocking to do before that and next week I have a new boss RC 20XL loop station I got thru the music store being delivered and I cant wait to rip on my strat and add the bass and rhythm to it and I will video tape a few jams and thanks again for your comments smile

I had a little fun with a jam and the nice thing about jams is you can make up the words as you go along and they dont have to be great but I hope I conveyed the spirit of a free and loose on the spot arrangement which most of my songs start out as so if you got a sec give a peek smile

Ark yours sounds a little easier for getfiddle to do just record the first song till it stops and follow the steps you mentioned to process it as a single mp3 smile

I agree with alvee a capo makes open chords sound great and I play a lot of moving phrases in conjuntion with a chord (walk down or up) also some fingerpicking arrangements sound really nice up further on the neck in open posistions smile

Headcase in music there is no normal dom 7chords have a special flavor in many blues and country songs they provide sort of an edge or raw feel to the music especially 1st position open dom 7ths E&A there are other forms I use all over the neck but they are altered chords and require string muting and dont sound as nice as the open kind but a capo can assist this smile

yes getfiddle you can split the tracks just load the mp3 and trim each track by cutting the end and exporting the mp3 and after theres a redo on the upper right of the audacity screen it restores it back to the original just highlight the first song and cut it and the second song will jump to the front but you may have to use the track shift tool on the upper left to move the track so theres a little room in front (about 2 seconds) and keep repeating the process till all the songs have been rendered to mp3's one of my tutorials deals with track shifting and I think Arkady mentioned a shortcut but it was in a thread and I cant recall where or which one smile

KajiMa I would hazard to guess that the tabs would be as difficult as notation perhaps even more so,I read fingerpicking notation which is kind of like reading a piano chart with two parts moving independently I tried and I gave up on tabs, reading notation was hard enough smile

kajiMa I checked the link and most of the members do not read notation and it is a good site and your not on your own its just as simple as that, Django was an incredible musician but his music lives on as I have seen some videos on Youtube and listened to some of his old recordings smile

Crazydukefan I am not sure what you mean by "swallows up" if it sounds muddy or the tone has no edge or sustain then it sounds like a string change is needed smile

I saw a few demonstrations of the boss RC-20xl and ordered one thru my music store I got a good deal I paid $263.00 including tax and shipping and it will blend in with my Boss ME-50 thru a 4 channel mixer I will be running this thru two amps stereo and I intend to do a few gigs with it once I have learned how to best use it,watching video demos and performances on YouTube will give me a pretty good idea of the versatility of this effect and I will have a bass guitar and acoustic on a stand I decided on useing my alesis and playing the pads manually for a more human touch cant wait to get it and dig into all the goodies smile

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the advice! Russell, I went ahead and ordered the usb cable that hooks mine to the pc... That should solve my problem smile

Phill, the card I have is a 1 GB card so it has plenty of room. I think I was just just missing something when trying to save to it.

I've got Propellerhead7 studio software and a few diffrent versions of cubebase as well. with the new usb2 hookup I should be set to go, as soon as it arrives smile -Pix

Ark I usually save a couple sets of old strings in case I break a new one, when I change strings I take them off one at a time and rewind the old string and put it in the little paper bag the new one came in that way I know where to find it in case a new one snaps I recycle the rest we have a setup here for collection 3 containers one for garbage, commingles(plastic, glass, metal) and one for press board(cardboard) the old ones have come in handy when I've been to forgetful to buy an extra set smile

Doug I think you missed your calling they sure could use you at the United Nations you have expressed yourself eloquently and I know I would have said something a little different. it kind of reminds me of a guest coming to dinner and complaining about the food and I dont recall seeing a mission statement anywhere on this site smile
