Pix cool it would be a lot of fun and on the chessboard I take no prisoners lol teaching your sons is a special thing when you both can enjoy and participate and chess is a wonderful game to expand your mind if you register you can set the number of days to make a move from three days to two weeks so there's no rush you have a lot of time to analyze before entering your move and they have chessboards and a chat with your opponant feature and a record of all the moves in the game and its free and like I said membership is entirely optional smile

I love chess!! I used to play a lot in school and then when I ran a pool hall here in town ,some 15 years ago, I used to host a chess night every wendsday for us to all get together and play. It was always a lot of fun. I haven't played much in the past 10 years...Except the occasional game with the wife. I have been teaching my sons to play these last few months though! I'll be sure to check out the site!! Maybe we can get a game going sometime! Just take it easy on me...I'm rusty smile -Pix

I found a great place to play free online chess,I dont know how many players there are on Chordie but if you enjoy a game now and then its a lot of fun. You can set your own homepage and play as many games at once as you want the site emails you when its your move a full membership is optional and not required but I joined because of the tournaments and I found the membership is as friendly as I have found on Chordie and next to music Chess is my mistress,if your inclined to check it out smile

Helena a very insightful look into the little creatures of nature I only wish it were not wasps I had a bad experience with a dwelling of those little demons it took several days for the swelling to go away smile

I have and did own both strats and tele's with maple and rosewood I think the maple looks better but I do not feel any difference in playing action,my first tele I had the body painted candy apple red and with the maple neck it looked really cool it was a vintage model that unfortunately was stolen, the strat I play now has a rosewood neck and its quick and easy to fret I think its a matter of choice but both are good ones smile

hey marc long time no hear how ya been? I read your "ain't no tree hugger" and from all the beautiful carvings Ive seen of yours its a good thing there a renewable source, actually I love to get out its just starting to warm up here in Wisconsin we had some brutal winter weather and I will be visiting my favorite spot a picnic bench overlooking our harbor in Port Washington, its a beautiful spot I bring a lunch and I open my guitar case and play a few tunes and make a few bucks, where I live there are so many great places to visit historic landmarks, parks, nature trails and lots of festivals in the summer including one you would like a art fair, all the local artist, carvers display there wares and there's food and music, folk singers even a group from south America.Port Washington is host to the largest fish and chips event in the world over a half million people gather for a one day event that is capped off by a unbelievable fireworks show with music. thanks for your comments on the ode and rest assure I'm not a couch potato I shall venture out of my humble dwelling and see the wondrous sites of nature, gaze at the stars in the evening hours away from the city lights and let my imagination wander smile

BB I'm not sure, backtracking is starting at some point of reference and proceeding anew and moving to where you have been, or in a different direction and arriving at another point.I think you made a good observation when you stated that "sometimes you can live with something running in the background and forget that it took a while to become part of you"but before it was part of you there was a void and knowledge filled it so its second nature to you now, so you can empathize with someone who is just starting a journey you have already taken smile

Helena I loved the sketch lol its amazing how many people believe the pot of gold story, when I lived on Oahu in Hawaii the locals told of little people they called Menehunes very much like Leprechauns and they supposedly live in the forests on the island smile

March 19, 2009                                           ODE TO ANIMALS

To the beast of burden that toil in the fields encased in a yoke there fate is sealed, they toil by day and into the night prodded by whips they put up no fight.
at the end of there days when strength they have none there served on a plate with rice and a bun, there carcase is fashioned into covers and chairs, there hooves are ground up to sell at the fair.

O noble equine how swiftly you run free on the planes with the wind and the sun, your captured and tamed and no longer free to race with the bison on the painted prairie
The budweiser name you wear on your neck, pulling a wagon on a never ending trek, and your final reward is a bottle of glue or Taco Bell or some other dog food.

The generous cow you give us your milk, we make cheese and dunk cookies in udders of silk and when you cease to stand or produce, we stun you and carve up and scarf up your juice.

O beloved turkey where would we be if you weren't so stupid and so good to eat, your giblets your legs your breasts and your beak yum yum we love you,you carnivore treat.

Last but not least the hens in the roost, those embryos you lay I like them with toast,at the end of your days we chop off your head, dunk you in boiled water your feathers are rent, then onto the grill with some BBQ sauce with corn on the cob and a salad we toss, yes here's to our friends who give all they got there loyal but yummy and sure hit the spot. smile

Ark I see there is a little different approach to ambient songs but as long as the results are what you are pleased with it works for you,Albion has been delayed a day till I can pickup my new bass it had to be ordered along with my new amp but I have been putting the time to use the important thing to me is I know what I'm going to do with it and I have no doubt it will turn out ok and I'm itching to add the other parts but the bass is very important it will enable me to be creative with the percussion and serve as a solid foundation to build the vocals and lead guitar parts around then comes the fun "Mixing" like a chef in a hotel combining all the ingredients into a feast for kings lol (or something like that I hope) somehow the old "its just a song" dont cut it as you get older you get more demanding and dont settle for "that's good enough"it has to be the best you can do and then it starts all over,"aah life is great" smile
