Nice one Brian, guitar is excellent.   I like the flow of the rhythm - your voice is perfect for this song.
  Well Done.

Jim

Thank you  Neo and Peatle

Kind of a budddy Holly song in my head

Brian and Peatle
Both are too funny.
My wife spends so much time on her phone - it is annoying.

I agree with Brian !

A little rock n' roll here  - I used all the words from the SOTM Challenge.
I'm not totally sold on the chords - any suggestions would be appreciated.
Maybe one of the accomplished musicians on here will give it a whirl

also, for some reason it won't let me use just a B - so I made it B7 and it let that work. Beats heck out of me why.

That Girl, She Makes Me Crazy by Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

[D]I have just about everything [A] I need or want

Verse 2

.

[D]I’ve followed my heart trying to [A] reach the sky

no [D]matter how I’ve wandered or [A]where I’ve roamed

[B7] I’ve found out those roads just[E7] lead me back home

.

.

Well [D]it’s those memories I have of that girl

.

Verse 3

.

[D]I wish I could walk on water, to[A] impress that girl

I need [D] to show her I’m as cool as[A] winter wind

I’ve[D] gone to my knees and asked the [A]heavens above

What [B7] else can I do to win that [E7]woman’s love

.

chorus

.

Well [D]it’s those memories I have of that girl

[A]There ain’t no way to get her off of my mind

Cool Peatle.

It is amazing the different perspectives that people have in how to spend their lives. They beauty of it sometimes - sometimes rather poor choices though.
I always thought being a farmer would be a great lifestyle  but for so many it is so hard and unforgiving.  My friend has been dumping his milk because the price is so low it cost him more to ship it than what he would receive as check. so sad after watching him work so hard.

Mojo   I'm liking this a lot. Greta lyrics and as per usual your playing and singing are top shelf.
I liked the walk down at the end - you are really talented  in a lot of ways.

In a Gadda Da Vida

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (derived from "In the Garden of Eden") is a song recorded by Iron Butterfly, written by band member Doug Ingle and released on their 1968 album of the same name.

At slightly over 17 minutes, it occupies the entire second side of the album. The lyrics, a love song from the biblical Adam to his mate Eve, are simple and are heard only at the beginning and the end. The middle of the song features a two-and-a-half-minute Ron Bushy drum solo.

It was a classic - pretty much the beginning of heavy metal genre.

Ron Bushy's drum solo was the inspiration for Ringo Starr's drum solo on "The End" from the Beatles 1969 album, Abbey Road. It was the last song recorded collectively by all four Beatles.

and of course.....

The Who  - won't get fooled again     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDfAdHBtK_Q&t=382s

I agree with Wipeout by Safaris, Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love

my 5th song /drum solo would be Santana at Woodstock in 1969.
Michael Shrieve was the drummer - really just a kid at age 20 - stepping out on that stage, in those circumstances.   A classic drum solo !
The song was   " Soul Sacrafice"       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_pDjX65vHo

At age 20, Shrieve was the youngest musician to perform at Woodstock

although not a classic " Drum Solo" - Levon helm of the band was awesome on this song.
Ringo did a fabulous job on this version.....   Peatle I think posted earlier this past week.

by far my favorite version ever of "The Weight"

here is a quick version ( I had to cough once- sorry!) of my song - apologies for playing and singing
didn't have time to re-do it.

This was written as a finale to Easybeat's Blitz !  smile

Fantastic song Peatle

Very emotional - could be interpreted so many ways.

So cool that Coldplay wrote it !

Those boys with JoAnne were incredible in more ways than their voices.

Thanks for sharing

Peatle

That was incredible. What an amazing way to sound fantastic.

OK I owe EB and Peatle  big time for turning us on to this band of awesome musicians.

Everytime I play one of their performance it is an eye opening,  HOLY SH** experience.

This is absolutely amazing - I have no clue how they can do such a thing - It is beautiful and
outstanding music - vocally and instrumentally.

on a side note - check out the gut with ponytail - and notice his tie!!  smile

Enjoy this - I am sure you will,   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L63j8wUP8kY

Jim

here is a bonus- Them playing Nirvana's  Smells like teen spirit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z680nUcxlLc

Billy strings is maybe the best guitar player I have sen.  Post Malone joins him on stage.  They take a simple Johnny Cash song and make it incredible

and again with Molly Tuttle

and then  there is Glenn Campbell !

Holy wow -   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUBhE00h9U0

Phill

nope - it was
"stank like hell"
"nut" brown

this part probably not for little kids...

"Dreaming of death yet longing for youth
Never accepting that "NO" was an answer
Belligerence grew like a terminal cancer."

but other than that (in my no account opinion ) it is classic and a poem that would spark imagery and wonder and fantastic fantasy -
I would love to have 3rd graders have this read to them and then have them draw what they thought it looked like.  There wouldn't be one picture the same !

I love it !!

That  is nonsense genius !  I love it

I'm telling you that with a couple fixes ( there are a couple of innuendos there I believe)
that might not be appropriate for I'm about to say......
That would be a huge hit in elementary school.  If Peatle could illustrate it - you guys might make a fortune.
It's witty, makes you think to put things together, and real draws on imagination.

Top shelf there my friend.

This is one of Dan Fogelberg's most personal songs. It's a tribute to his father, Lawrence Fogelberg, who was a band director. One of my favorite songs.
