This is a song that I posted some years ago and recorded on my 2014 album London Rain but I always felt it was too short so I used to stick a long solo in the middle when we did it live but recently I've come up with a bridge for it and I think it makes it a good length for an acoustic version. Hope you like it

I've been a fan of Pavlos Pavlides for many years and been lucky enough to play support at a festival and meet him a couple of times. There are a number of Greek artists who don't get the praise they deserve by English speaking audiences as their lyrics tend not to translate well but some of their music is outstanding and inspiring.

This is a song I've been messing with for some time .The tune was inspired by some of the songs written by Pavlos Pavlides whose work I love but the songs dont translate well from Greek so I've wriiten these yrics for my wife and set them in the style of Pavlides Hope you like the acoustic demo . The finished song will be a little faster and eletric

Once I get through the fostex manual which is like war and peace I can run individual tracks into the hard drive but at the moment its all going into one so I've to take my best guess at it I'll probably have another crack tomorrow I did Simple man the other day on another thread but I used a head set mic for the vocal and it has quite a high output I swapped back to my sm58 for this but obviously didn't have enough gain on it . Its been a while and I'm not as young as I used to be ,Can you speak up a bit ? LOL

I've lifted the vocal as much as I can now as its recorded basically as a live take so all I could do was lift the 400hz a bit .

Thanks Phill for the feed back .
There's an acoustic version on the forum Phil with clearer vocals .I'm just playing with a fostex desk at the moment so once I get it figured I should be able to clean it up a bit .Its basically a demo for the rhythm and bass for a friend to listen to the groove . I'll try and lift the vocal over the next day or so .

Wondering what your current go to guitar is ?I tend to chop and change which I use . Currently its my Larivee C5 when I'm down stairs or my Yamaha guitalele upstairs .In the loft there's too much choice .

Re: Mandolin tuning discovery (4 replies, posted in Other string instruments)
I have mine tuned normally Russell as I've played mando for years , I just realised about the reverse tuning last night while I was messing around . I agree with your comments though ,just pointing out for any one who wants to do the odd mando piece without learning something new

Dont know if its just me thats stupid but it just occured to me that if I strung my mandolin in reverse E A D G then the chords would be the same as my guitar of course the thick strings would be at the bottom where as on the guitar it would be at the top . Just thought its a way for non mando players to strum a mando with out learning new chords .

A bit of info for all the Yamaha Guitalele players out there .For the past 12 months I've been using Hannabach 653057 Series 890 strings to be able to tune to normal E tuning rather than A but at £20+ a set regular changes are quite costly however I've now found Hannabach 653059 Series 890 which are basicaly the same string except they dont have a wound G but they are around £12.00 a set which makes them much more affordable ,down side is I have only found them on Amazon and not at the independand dealers who I would prefer to buy from .However Ive been very pleased with the performance of the other Hannabach strings so I hope these are as good

Great version Richard ,but whenever I hear this song It always takes me back to the extremley rude version I used to bang out in the early 70s ,which cant be posted here or probably any where , but to give you a feel for it ,It started "Out in the west Texas town of El Paso there is a Sh** house with out any door " I'll leave the rest to your imagination.LOL..I didnt play it half as good as you do either .
