ok, happy canada day 140 years old? Sorry but I dont believe that. I am sure it will be a few million years old and I am sure.....nope I am positive that their were residents in canada before 140 years ago.

When is it happy Scotland day?

Hope ye all have a good day off.

Happy B-Day Canada. If I could think of a canadian beer right now, I'd slam one for ya.

If I sit down with the guitar and can't find a pick, I just take it as a sign that it's time for some fingerstyle practice wink

I did a pick round up shortly after posting this thread... Most have been recovered:) We have a gazebo on the back deck with a couch and a few chairs under it... I/we play there a lot and upon searching under the cushions, I recovered over 3 dozen picks smile The laundry room also turned up quite a few..

one of the reasons I learned to fingerpick was because I couldnt find any picks one day. That and John Prine.

Great song, reb. Didnt you write a gospel type song awhile ago? I like the third verse. Inspriration comes from wierd places.

Theres not much I didnt like about your playing. There was a point, I think its around the 5 min mark, where the piano and the singer where playing and then you came in. I proubly would have not played there. But other then that sounds good. I love gospel music. Your singer can really sing.

As in changing the key in the middle of a song? I have one that is a E 145 then in the middle I switch to a G 145. then switch back. Sounds pretty good and extends the song alot more then just a 145

I was going to reply to this because there was another thread like this, so I'll just say I love this site. Started out just looking for tabs, now I just use the forums. What I like about Chordie is all the advice I get from players alot more exprienced then I. Like others have said, I get more inspireds to write when I come to this site. It got me motivated to actually record my stuff. This wouldnt have been possible if it wasnt for the help of Arkady, Russell Harding, Getfiddle,  Stransongs, and Kap54. Whether or not they know that or not, I do not know. But thanks to all for the help and inspration

I have a Kustom  4 channel P.A. system that was 100$ U.S.(dont know what that is in euros) Cheap but loud. Very good for the price. Compact too so you dont have to struggle with it.

Good for you, Top! Nothings worst then disrespect (eccept maybe a rash?) Hope your team wins and continues your luck

There aint no bugs on me, they love that one.
this land is your land, thats just easy to remember
Life is a hiway, kinda cheesy but hey its for kids.
Spongebob , Hannah Montana, I hate her, but again for the kiddies.
My kids love the Sherk soundtrack, so anything off that.
With my kids, I sometimes I play a simple 1 4 5 and let them make up the words as we go.

Great song! I like the video too. Very cool.

Just a quick update. As soon as I get well, a buddy of of mine says I can help him out on this construction gig he's got. So atleast I have a something lined up and can concentrate on getting better. As for everything else, it'll have to wait. On the brighter side of things, the kids are out of school so were getting to spend alot of time together.
Thanks to all who have commented.

Selso, sorry to hear about your problems. I too just lost my job after nearly 40 years of service. Mine was sopposedly due to downsizing and I was the 1st to go since I was the highest paid salaried employ. Now back to your problem.

Nothing can be done about your wife's situation as she had the responsibility to not let her license expire. But on your case NOTHING can take away from you being hurt on the job. The day they terminated you you should have left and went directly to a lawers office. This won't get resolved "overnight" so make sure your personal life gets back in order. Get your wife "up to date" with her license and back to work. Depending on the degree of your injury you need to do whatever it takes to get yourself healed and back employed. Of your injury won't allow that then that is where the MEAN lawyer comes in. Most lawyers will take the case on a precentage, usually about 30 - 40% of whatever they get. This money is usually "tax free".

Anyway, hurry up and get well, fight for what's right.

Nela

Sorry about that, Nela. 40 years is along time. Do you have any plans? How are you making it? I guess Im just not used to being unemployed. Ive taken care of myself since i was 15 so work was always a priority. I know it was my wifes responsibilty to renew the liciense but did they have to suspenend her on the same day?She doesnt even needed a licecense to do her job. Thanks though, and I hope everything works out for you
