You use a capo to change the key you are in. If a song is in Eb you can't play it on a standard tuned guitar. But if you put a capo on the first fret then the D cord becomes Eb

Thanks all I bought a Martin DX-1. I thought the saddle was plastic. I went out and got a bone saddle, made by Martin for $5.00. And took the one on the guitar out. After messing w/ the new one, I concluded that the one I had was bone. It appears as if the Martin has a dead spot. I probably should of kept the Epiphone I had, it barred much easier. Live and learn.

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love

HI all. I thought I posted this yesterday, but I probably hit the wron button LOL. I trying to find an inexpensive machine or something to put out different rythems so I don't get stuck in the old 4:4 and 3:4 rythems. This'll make me thing I play better then I do.

Hi all!
Chordie has been such a great help. I bought my first electric guitar, several weeks ago from the local pawn shop. Having been an acoustic freek, but worn out fron playing barre cords on it.
It's an Ibaniez GiO. It plays slick. I have several questions: 1) the top knob is for vol. and I think the lower is treble? 2) what differance does the 3-way switch make? 3) there ssems to be a 60 cycle hum, is this just a cold soder joint or do I need a new pod?

Lastly the 60W amp has me stumpes: there is a vol knob, a gain knob and bass, mid and treble knobs what in the world do I do w/ these thingies???
God Bless

Hi all
I just bought a new (used electric guitar) from the local pawn shop. It's an Ibanez 2i0. It's set as low as any guitar I've ever seen. The problem is that round the 7th fret the high E string buzzes against the next fret.
There are 2 small allan screws at the bottom of the string (butt plate?) and a larger screw at the bottom. Do I just need to adjust the allen screws to raise the string a bit or adjust the screw? I've never owned an electric guitar befor and I'd hate to have to take it to the guitar shop if it's just a simple turn of the screws.
