Looking forward to hearing how this one goes; I am backing the 'awesome' gig scenario.

I can only reiterate what has already been said. A larger than life character who will be missed by everyone whose path he crossed.

My condolences to his family.

Still a bad link, I'm afraid:

Jim, you are doing nothing wrong. At the present time chordpro is not activated in the Songwriting section, there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to make Chordie secure and Per is doing his best to make sure that things work well, and safely, before implementation.

Hi Chris,

As you see it is all down to how much you participate in the Forum discussions but under exceptional circumstances a Member is occasionally given a unique title.

Feel free to join in and you will soon lose the 'Junior' ranking. smile

Hello Paco and welcome,

Another easy starter song is Knocking on Heaven's Door: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.g … 24498.html

This is always an early one for my student,s although I have a version with four verses to make it a bit longer. smile

Hi Jen72,

I do not ever remember being able to change the chord grids other than within the chordpro formatting. Like so:

{chord:[name] E A D G B e [barre fret]}

Example:
{chord: G 1 3 3 2 1 3} this would show an F shaped chord with a 3 to indicate 3rd fret so a barred G chord http://www.chordie.com//ramimages/i0/Gchord_133211_3.png

The red shown part would have to be written after the title and sub-title but before the intro chords in the song.

I just joined today and I'm trying to find a friend's songbook so can share tunes. I know his user name, but how do I search for his songbook?  Thanks  "Chordie66"

You can only search published Songbooks so make sure it is published, find out the title of his Songbook then use the 'Sort' at the top right of the page to have them shown alphabetically and then you should be able to find it.

I was attracted to this song when I first saw it. I even got my guitar out and played it, something I have not done for a long time, but Phill has certainly worked his magic on it. Great job by both you guys!

Hi There,

You have resurrected an 8 year old thread and there are current ones about Songbook difficulties that mekidsmom is help sort out for people.

Please read though this thread and repost there if you are unable to find the answer:

http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic. … 22#p169622

Please try and be specific with your question as it is very difficult to help if we do not know how far you are getting and what is going wrong for you.

Dinosaurs, like me smile, who use I.E. do not get a print preview however I also just printed out on Chrome and it shows how many sheets it will take and gives a preview. I have reported the problem with I.E.

I had no problem on either browser with chord grids being cut off, the layout of the grids was changed from the screen version to fit the paper.

Thanks Joe. I will be keeping an eye on it.

I use an AKG too, in fact I have two (a spare is always handy smile). Unfortunately now discontinued, mine are the D880 and I much prefer this to the SM58. Set up a SM58 and then, without altering the settings, do a straight replacement with the D880 and immediately you have more volume and a sweeter tone. I like AKG mics.

We are getting multiple threads about Songbooks so I am closing this one.

Please keep all the Songbook problems in this thread: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic. … 54#p170754

This way Amy (Mekidsmom), who is doing most of the work is sorting this, is not having to repeat instructions on how to assist.

Hi Copper,

Just to avoid any confusion:

To the right of the song you wish to add it say 'My Songbook' this is the default, if you have any other named books you can click on the boxed 'V' to select. Then click on the 'ADD' in the blue box and it should be done.

Are you saying that clicking on the 'ADD' takes you back to log-in even though you are already logged-in?

In case anyone else is having difficulties deleting a song as it has changed:

1. Click in the light grey box to the left of the song title (marked 1 in the photo)

2. Click on the bin icon above the songs (marked 2 in the photo)

Just thinking back to Roger Guppy's description of taking a guitar into Portugal.......

Doug, I think you are referring to a comment I made about shipping goods from America to here. There is no trade agreement between Portugal and America so imports get taxes and duties applied and that can be painful. U.K. to Portugal is no problem in fact moving goods around all E.E.C. countries is not a problem.

It works fine for me Tom. Try clearing your cookies then, when you log into Chordie, hold down the 'shift' button and press the 'refresh' icon a couple of times.

Please let me know the result.

**Edit to add: Sorry I misread your question but I cannot remember being able to add the chord variation that way. The only way I have ever done it was to programme the actual chord at the start of the song.**

Hi harrahy,

You can sort the books in alphabetical order to find a particular book. A search by book title or the compiler's name is not so easy to do, but it is on the list to be looked at. I suspect a search for a particular song or artiste will also be problematical  but I will suggest that it is added to the list.
