All you chordians playing live ,i am in awe of you.
There seem to be places like pubs where people demand the covers.
But there are places like folk/country/open mics where you can play
what u like & originals.
TF if you enjoy playing live there is a venue waiting to hear what you got to offer.
Get back on the horse cowboy.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.
I put this one on soundcloud because TF said he could hear my
influences in my other stuff.I`m influenced by everything i ever
heard.Goodness knows where this came from though, also only used one chord.

Gidday Bill
i`m always looking for something new/different.It`s pretty hard to find anyone
playing music from a new viewpoint. It seems the same stuff is going round and round.
I still like the classic stuff but hanker for truly original stuff.
After two tracks i kinda know if it will excite me.But of course good music often takes
some getting into,so i often persevere,often rewarded.
but in these days of easily accessible free music it`s getting harder to immerse yourself
in an artist when there`s millions of others to choose from.
hopefully the reemergence of vinyl will get us back to listening to an album as a whole again.

Gidday Julian
Congratulations on your graduation.I gather you are learning guitar.
Well a word of caution, being a guitar player is a chick magnet.
(I have no experience of this as i must be the exception.)All the best for the future.
And of course the chicks.
You have a wonderful grand father cherish him.
Good Luck from us Kiwis.

Mothers Day

This year thought of doing nothing
But that`s really not my way
Used to give to my mother
But now to my kids mother
There`s a new book out by my favourite author
Also that dark chocolate i love
Maybe gift her the beer i`m drinking
We`ll just have to wait and see
Yeah i know what you thinking
I`m giving a hat that fits me.

I usually don`t know where song ideas come from, but this one i can trace back to a conversation.
A few older guys having a beer looking back at their lives.Yeah there`s a bit of me in here as well.
Not sure it`s worked well as a song, but i just had to write it down, it felt interesting.

Unfortunately when I play piano or guitar it is all done by feel. I would put this in as a song if I had the know how.. I have tried to make it work as a song but my bad piano playing and singing get in the way. I put it up on soundcloud in the hope oneday someone might have a go at making it into better song.

Long As Your HappyI can remember seeing the rain on the window pane
One summer many years ago.
Were waiting to go out.
You all dressed up nice in your best dress.
You couldn't wait to get out.
Next thing I noticed you had gone outside the door.
Your running in the yard completly wet.
Your best dress was a mess as youd fallen in the mud.
And your hair was a bit of a mess.
Your mother was unhappy.
Why did you let her go out.
All I could say was this.
As long as she's happy.
As long as your happy.
I couldn't care less.
I couldn't care less about that dress.
When I saw you smiling at me.
As long as your happy.
As long as your happy I couldn't care less.
I wouldn't worry if your hair was in a mess.
All I worry about is your beautiful smile.
And I wouldn't worry to much about the mess
As long as your happy.
As your happy.
As long as your happy
I don't give a damn about the mess.

Many thanks guys for taking the time to read and comment.
I`m not quite sure what this poem is about, but i was surprised
to hear the UK has a hate speech law.Recently a top sportsman here
who is a christian quoted the bible when asked a question about gays.
Well it has just gone ballistic, totally out of all proportion.
i guess in a country with a dictator you get killed or locked up, in a so called democracy
you just get hounded out of your job.

If you can`t express your views in a legitimate way
your opinion suppressed
but others opinion.... night and day
give it a name....bring in a law
call it hate speech
they can now stop your free speech
but not you thoughts
when frustration grows
from being ignored and suppressed
unfortunately good people cornered
into thinking violence the best

King Crimson "Level Five" Japan, 2003
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KKka6sSCs0
KC's 2003 double disk DVD "Eyes Wide Open" was compiled of tour footage throughout Japan. This song features intricate guitar duo work between Adran Belew and Robert Fripp, backed by the amazing drumming of Pat Mastelotto, and the touch guitar bass arrangements of Trey Gunn. It's a bit unique in that it has a "level five" intensity, but never really becomes a song as such. Nevertheless, the musicianship is exciting to watch / listen to.
Don`t know if Peatle ever mentioned it,but we have a beer most sundays with a mate who toured
with Robert Fripp.
