Well life and things have got in the way of being able to contribute to Chordie and write some decent music lately TF.
I do keep an eye on the songwriting section though and though I don't comment I do read and listen to most of the submitted work.
All the active mods Doug and Roger especially do such a great job at keep the spammers at bay there's not much to do in that department.
Anyway I'm still around.

May I point out that just a quick hello and good song or , Nice effort (if you dont want to be truthful and say not so good dude), is nice in my book. I appreciate knowing that the effort to post has been noticed.  smile

so  i don`t bother to post much.same goes for Peatle.

I don't know why my last post did not go , maybe this will.   As to replies to post,, this has been a  issue for a long time, lots of views and average 3 to 5 replies if your lucky,
Many forums have messenger now, though forums are fast becoming a T-Rex, most are on FB, Twitter snap chat.... etc.   This is the age of instant access and reply.   Most of our member's are Anti FB. some are not.

We have about 20 +/- "Core" and active members.  How often do we get a new member who will post more than once or twice?  This is a issue I have talked to Doug about a few times.  There is a chordie FB but i only check it once in a blue moon because none of my friends are there.  It summer, no one is sitting in front of a puter LOL

I dont know about this series but I can vouch for the Xavier line.  We have had one that Cade has played and I took to Chordie stock, its very good.

I LIKE IT! YOU GOT ALL THE ELEMENTS OF A GREAT METAL  OR PUNK SONG THERE!  I know you didn't write it or play it that way, please don't mind if I do.   That chorus is the hook and the verses are great.  And as Phill says, I may have to change up the timing to suit. My Garage beer song goes 4/4 in the verse and 3/4 in the chorus.

just plug in that distortion box on your acoustic!lol

heck yes me me me

(STOLEN FROM A USER REVIEW)
How to write and play a Ramones song:

1. Pick 3 chords
2. Use really fast 4-4 drum beat
3. Play guitar chords, strumming at the same time as the hi-hat is struck [ALL DOWN STROKES]
4. Play bass line using same notes and speed as guitar
5. Name your song, using (female name) is a (something to do with music or punk) template
6. Write appropriate punk lyrics to match title
7. Record on a shoestring budget
8. Become  legends

(MY ADDITION)
10 Never let Phil Specter produce a album for you.

OK so Im open now ! LOL I have been remiss lately with all my detailing, but  ill get one in here!

Dont worry bill you are not alone!  I am the same way.  So I take the song, copy it to a word document (any word processing you use is fine) double space it, then I just play it a line at a time and write the changes above the correct space or word in the song.  time consuming ? yes, but I get lost easy! LOL even with my own songs!

YOU KNOW IT!  Will try very soon to get it up on Sound Cloud

PS.
IDK if that is a correct term , but my root 5 walk up is just 2 finger barr chords from [A] string at the nut to [E] string  moving up in pitch by whole steps till you get to Band then you go 1/2 step to Bd/ C#

Pure Ramones rock, inspired by "I don't wanna go to the basement".  I had a track of the guitar in my audacity, didn't save it, left program running, someone shut it off and now I have to re-record it!  But maybe this time with some drums, so we will see how it goes  : )

BGD, I use audacity all the time , also you can use the standard highlight a little bit, then move to your finish point, hold shift and click to highlight a big section, an you can just hit the delete key.  Have you figured out the effects options?  I find if you go into effects preferences or settings, its nice to lengthen the preview time as its so short  by standard you dont really hear what your trying to hear.  some are tricky to work with in the format they are in as the VST does not show up like a pedal as in some DAW programs.  I also have unsuccessfully tried to add new VST's to the program and for some reason it is not working. Even after reading all the directions and watching you tube, which BTW has great how to vids all over it, here are some to take you down the rabbit hole. Don't forget to download the instruction PDF its really a good one.

HAVE FUN!

Damn Bill,

That's terrible.  thoughts  with you and Dondra.

Im with Jim on thisone. in honor of Chris Cornell.  from Soundgarden to audioslave, to anything he has done.

Ill vote with spoonman   just a classic heavy yet dimple riff.

Lyrics in work, this hit me this morning watching interviews with Santana and Bob Wier. (I love AXiS TV) *edited to fit rules

To far to the right, to far to the left
Stand on the crack,
They break your *_______ back

Scared of the dark
Your heart accepts or rejects
Not all that is dark takes you to hell
Many loves crafted in that wishing well.

Wrong or right, It’s a daily fight
Trying to be you without becoming them,
Stand on the crack,
They break your *_______  back

I have managed to dial in a very nice low watt tube sound from my berhinger amp with multi effects added in,, if you want a SS amp with lots of versatility, and not a big tag,, check that brand out. or the tube line called the Bugera V5.  Its a killer amp and i have even pushed a 2X12 cabnet with it and it was amazing!

A 5 watt tube amp is as loud as a 15 watt solid state in most cases.  the V5 even has a attenuationselect switch from .1 watt to .3 to5. so you can crank up the gain and not kill your neighbors.

Try this, use a distortion or boost  or compression/sustainer pedal. most stomps have out level knobs.  use it in the middle, run the 1/4 To 1/8 jack to your chair.set chair vol at 1/2, and the stomp at 0. turn all on, and gradually increase the out level of your stomp till if sounds nice, and then use chair volume for the rest.

That should work.

Try at your own risk smile
