A Little explaination: My birthday is coming up on Saturday. Ill Be 26. Ive been thinking alot about my twin brother who died when we were 17. I just needed to write something to remember him . Its very personal but i feel like here on chordie the ones who really care about songwriting will over look that and take it for what its worth.

Two little boys running through them woods

Fighting over nothing, allways up to no good

And they tell me time goes by

One of those boys wouldnt grow to be a man

I still dont know what put that gun in his hand

and they tell me times goes by

Chorus

Its been 8 long years since i learned to cry
and it dont get easier as time goes by
Its your face when I look in the mirror
everytime I cry and everytime i shiver
they tell me time goes by!

Well give me something I wont miss
Long neck bottle, honey, and smells like fish
and I just wish he was here

And I cant promise you tomorrow
or give you yesterday
I cant beg , steal or borrow
JUst let me take away your pain mmmmm
let me take away your pain

I think the last line was for my mom, and the one before that is about how i just drank so i wouldnt feel anything. I do A little finger picking riff with a capo on the 6th fret
starting on an open G form

i guess it depends on what instrument. I usally can pick stuff up pretty quick unless it a brass or woodwind

Great song expression, Doll. Very heartfelt

G                    D                            G
I never really thought about it to long
G                                     C                G
See, I never thought I'd ever love a hippie
G                                   D                             G
But a hippie girl's what made me write this song

Chorus:
C                              D               G
Sure some time she smells like pouchli
C                                D                        G
Yeah and maybe her arm pit hairs too long
C                            D                            G          F#  Em

C                                  D                             G
But a hippie girls what made me write this song

Verus

Well I used to get mad when she played the Greatful Dead

But now I've learned to hum a tune or two

And now she got me singing all sorts of country songs

when I used to play punk rock all day long

chorus
sure some times she smells like pouchli
and maybe her armpit hairs to long
I never thought I'd ever love a hippie
but a hippie girls what made me write this song
C                     D                    G             F#      Em
If she had her way she'd be bare foot every day
C                        D                             G
And a hippie girl made me write this song
