Very Nice Writing JJ smile

To have the freedom to swim with dolphin and not a care in the world is a dream shared by many.

"Oh I could dream of distant lands and oceans deep,
The warm depths the womb...
In which I sleep."

Powerful metaphorical writing my friend.

Any chance we can have a listen?  I hope so. smile

Your right on with inspiration coming out of nowhere from the simplest things in life.
Well Done

Your post appears all scrambled to me from Chopro formatting. This might be because you have some instruction and one line in the second verse of your song with brackets. I think if you straighten these out it will appear in print properly. smile

Hi Strans,

Glad you enjoyed the read. I'm also hoping the floodgates open up.
Thanks for taking the time for the read smile
Kenny

Hi Kaj, Glad your feeling better. smile

As a follow up on my previous post,my therapist ( I've seen her a bunch lol) once told me that I wasn't the first person to misplace anger for guilt. I didn't realize I had done it and then it made a bunch of sense to me. After some thought I got angry about the situation and felt gooder...much gooder. Maybe that's what's happening for you with the parents, the pub owners and the kids.

Hope this helps you smile

Thanks Shady
It was a quick write to try and get the old juices flowing again. Me thinks I'm gonna do a little re-write on it to tighten it up some.
Much Appreciated smile
Kenny

HI Kaj smile

I think Jeff is on track here.  Saving a life while putting yours on the line is a very traumatic thing. Add to that, that it happened once before under the same circumstance and I can see a big guilt trip building. It is not your fault these things happened. Talk to the owners of your pub and have them post signs of the dangerous situation so you hopefully don't have to stress about the possibilities of it repeating.

Meanwhile...Kudos for your bravery and heads up in a dicey situation. I'm sure the parents feel the same way. smile

Big Time Atta Boy.

It's been a long time since I've posted anything on board. Reading all the good post has gotten a few juices flowing so I wrote this one this morning. Hopefully I can get into recording it sometime. In the form of a Willie Nelson ballad with light picking. Enjoy and all critiques welcome.

Without Youby Ken Peters June 07/09

Verse 1

If I [C]had to live my life alone with[Am]out you,

[F]And never know your [C]smile.

Each [C]minute that would pass would feel like [Am]hours,

Each [F]footstep, a lonely [G]mile.

[E]The stars could never [Am]shimmer,

[E]To light the evening [Am]sky.

[D]Darkness would surround me,

With[D7]out you by my [G7]side.

If I [C]had to live my life alone with[Am]out you,

[F]I'd be [G]lost [C]inside. [G7]

Verse 2

Like a [C]statue I'd be frozen for the [Am]ages,

[F]And all the world would [C]see.

That my [C]book of love is filled with lonely [Am]pages,

The [F]chapters, a tearful [G]read.

[E]Each paragraph reads [Am]heartache.

[E]All single lines I [Am]cry.

The [D]footnote that describes me,

Im[D7]plies I want to [G7]die

If I [C]had to live my life alone with[Am]out you,

[F]I could [G]never [C]try.

refrain

The [Am]days would drag like a [E]long and dreary winter.

With a [Am]cold wind blowing [E]strong.

The [D]snow would fall with[Am]out ever melting,

The [D]sunshine would be [G7]gone.

All I know is you [C]mold me,

I can see the light of [Am]day.

When you [F]hold me,

I can feel no [G]pain.

I could [C]never live my life alone with[Am]out you.

[F]I would [G]never [E]try. [Am]

Without [Dm9]you I'm lost, [G]

Always good to have more Clapton fans on board. Enjoy the on board banter cause we're here for a good time...and a long time.

Hi Crevs smile

A pat on the back and a big Kudos. It takes a lot of nerve to post up on Youtube after playing for only 4 months. I think you did yourself proud. Just think how you will be in a few years. smile

Keep at it

Good story behind this one. It feels like it could go country or bluesy. Looking forwards to hearing what you have in mind.

Hi ShonaghMcG.

I agree with Jeff...I think you should play it for him. It is well written and strongly says how you feel. This is a good thing that can only bring about a joyous tear.

I really enjoyed the listen along with your other songs. You should post up the link next to your Email so you don't have to post it in your threads.

P.S. How about "Your insights taught me wisdom" for your questionable line. Just a thought from a rookie.

Hi All. I'm soon to be 55 from Canada and have been playing on and off (more off) for the past 40 years.  Thanks to Chordie it's been more on, but I'm still struggling to get and keep the passion going. Lots of great people here to help along the way,Big Thanks to all and welcome to all the new members.

I know a few people that have bad migraines and it pretty much cripples them when it hits. I feel for all that get them cause there doesn't seem to be a quick fix.

Every once in a while when I go from light to dark areas I get a visual/optical migraine. There is no pain involved but it can be quite annoying. A flashing rainbow effect that starts in the lower left field of vision, then it travels across my line of site expanding to where it finally leaves my site line. This will take around 45 minutes from start to finish and if I'm driving I've had to pull over due to I can't see clearly. Even when I close my eyes it's still there. I have included links to 2 vids that show it best. The first vid demonstrates how annoying it can be and the second vid shows pretty much what I see. I have found that eating yogurt helps to set it off...needless to say I haven't eaten yogurt in a long time.

Check out the vids cause it's kinda bizzare.

Wow...Talk about cool under pressure. Kudos to you and your wife for heads up in a critical situation. That must have been a scary ride for you and the misses. I'm real glad it worked out OK for you and Yup...aspirin is a life saver.
I was recently diagnosed  with a moderate blockage in my Superficial Femoral Artery. This explains why I have been feeling like crapola the last 6 months. My right leg goes dead on me if I walk 2 flights of stairs. Anyways they have me on 3 different meds till they figure out the next step, one of them being 81 mg per day of ASPIRIN for just in case my blockage unblocks. Anyways for those of you that don't get regular check ups, don't underestimate the power of Aspirin cause it can and will save your life. smile

Another good reason for the internet cause if it wasn't here, maybe you wouldn't be. I've researched my problem and have learned tons about P.A.D.

Keep on Keeping on Nela smile

All I can say is...Try not to let your meat loaf. lol

P.S. You should post up a pic of your creation so we can critique it. (as long as it's not a scratch and sniff)
