I love the way you`ve done 1 line then back to the chorus
then 3 lines /chorus
then 2 & 2 again

I know meaningful words are easier to write.
But maybe you should try ordinary or even silly words
to get you thru the block.
It`s a real trick to make it work, but often you end up with a great song.

Grace Of God  ( I`ve done this very simple G & C   for verse  Am & D for chorus
Just wanting to make the most of the words.)
That man walking down the street
Talking to himself out aloud
Obviously got some sort of problem
Your callous comments
unthinking at that moment
Hope you`ve had time to reflect
A little bit of grace
A little bit of charity
A little bit of understanding
In the past i`ve been ashamed
Of my knee jerk response
Get off my high horse
But for the grace of god
There goes you or I
A little bit of grace
A little bit of charity
A little bit of understanding
But for the grace of god
There goes you or I

hey you sound like me making apologies for not being a singer or much of a guitarist.
But i`m slowly learning, hey this is me,the song is the important thing.
I may not do it so great but here`s the song & i`ve given it my best shot.
If ya look up writers original versions of well known songs often they are pretty basic.
Look forward to hearing you play more of your own stuff.

Gidday all
hey don`t drink beer,it makes you do crazy things.
I knocked out a wee Christmas song,it turned out reasonably well.
What the hell i thought,i`ll release it electronically.
Next day i`m thinking   was that such a good idea?

many many thanks for your kind comments.& visits to Soundcloud.
I really needed it, as lately i`ve felt very discouraged.Haven`t even bothered
putting songs/poems on Chordie even though they still flowing out of me
at an alarming rate.

Gidday,
i`ve been watching a little series on utube called Guitar Moves  (with Matt Sweeney)
This is fantastic, he spends 10 mins chatting & jamming with well known guitarists.
The guest talks music & shows a few of their guitar tricks eg Keith Richards 5 string guitar.
The guests are from rock to country, have a looky, you won`t regret it.
Rock on baby!

Gidday,
someone emailed me to put this song on soundcloud.
Can`t remember who it was, as it was ages ago.
well it`s there finally. It`s a little different to written version above
as it was recorded with the aid of a few beers.
hope you get a smile from it.

I`ve had a few comments that `Mac`  is hard to find on Soundcloud.
Shes now added NZ to the name.that should make it easier to find.

Gidday Jim
i think this is probably your best song.
I`m not a fan of everything rhyming but on this one it works.
good on ya.

Both Bill,i just want her to put her touch to the songs.
I love giving a song to someone & letting them do an arrangement or style thats different to mine.
And of course adding a good voice.
Covering an original(never heard) is pretty close to actually writing an original.
It`s where a lot of us got started writing.
