I have just got back on Monday from yet another trip way up north (once again) to yet another family funeral (3 since Christmas) hence not being onto any recordings myself.  So hoping now I am back, to be able to get onto it.

Sorry for your loss, always makes it a tough time ... sad

Thanks to you and Roger and Neo, wow you have once again earned the the title ~The Human Jukebox~ with all your contributions smile  I had a listen to your songs last night.  There were some in there I hadn't heard of before  so always good to hear new songs.  As for Julia Dream and Roxanne you made them interesting with the reverb or delay on? the effects definately added to the songs smile  Mrs Brown you`ve got a lovely daughter, was foot tapping material and the voices at the end made it interesting smile  Angie (a song I have always liked) you covered well and I found myself singing along with you.  Also congratulations on your original song Margaret`s Eulogy, anyone who writes an original deserves a medal.

Thanks for all your kind words ... I've got a few more which I've recorded but haven't edited and put onto YouTube yet ... still a few more days ...

Cheers

Richard

Never did get into Michael Jackson much - I remember one band I was in, they were surprised when I hadn't heard of him; that was back when "Thriller" was released, and the drummer had his poster up in the room ... he played some tunes and I was like "meh ..." ....

But your story reminds me of another story I have - I used to listen to my records and casettes back in the day, and always like The Cure, before they became big (or, as I think, sold out), anyway my step-sister bought me this poster of them, and I'd never seen them before. Hieronymus Bosch was the only poster I had in my room ... I was surprised when I saw what they looked like - that poster never went up ...

Cheers

Nullabor Wall does it meaning anything in Australia. Just wondering..

The Nullarbor Plain is the desert between Western Australia and South Australia, as per the map below. The world Nullarbor is for "no trees" ... I thought it was an aboriganal word, but the etymology seems latin ... , when we were recording the track the producer said that the name was reflective of the difference in music between the East and the West of Australia, and how artists in the West had to go beyond that wall to make it in Australia ...

I think your Chordie handle "Neophytte" would have blended right in. Terrific memories for you, I'm sure.

I think maybe I was looking in the same part of the dictionary when I named the song too ... smile

Neo , I agree with your last statement. We all have varying degrees of talent even the Pro's. I know I'll never be as good as my favorite artists but I've come along way from where I started. If you have the will, desire and you put some effort into playing you are a winner. The enjoyment is worth it. Every time I pick up the guitar I am amazed at the fact I can make music from it. I'll play with anyone who wants to sit down and pick no matter what there skill level is. Peatle your a winner in my book !

... and I agree with your last statement!!

If you thought that version of City of New Orleans was rough on my voice, you should have heard me try it in C. LOL!  That was an immediate trip to the delete key when I started to play it back.

Been there, done that!!! smile
