I would be interested to hear how this plays.
Looks to me as canidate for finger picking and I
like the sound of Bsus2 and F#m together.

Re: Recording question? Russell you out there..lol (11 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Ok a month or so ago I purchased a digital recorder http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ … sku=241796 and mic http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ … sku=271593 I've been playing around with some tracks and I think I'm doing this the hard way. I've been laying down my guitar on one track and then laying my drums and vocals on seperate tracks. This works out ok but I'm having trouble keeping it all in sync. I don't know how to use the recorder to move my tracks and lay them in the right position without going through the trouble of syncing it while recording. Would it be best to just record one track at a time and then try to layer them using audacity. Can anyone give me some tips or a quick walk through? Also say I'm doing a song with a constant bongo pattern throughout..can I just record say 30 seconds of it and then loop it to continue for the whole song without having to play it for the entire track myself? Thanks -Pix
Maybe we should consider a recording section to the forum...There seems to be more and more questions coming up about it.
Hey pixs
Sorry to gate crash you and russ here
But I've used audacity to record most of my songs simple tutorials here http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tutorials
the repeat function on the effects tab creates loops of any length. ( just repeats any number of times what has been recored onto the track)
Tracks can be moved in time using the cursor so track timing can realigned if out to each other. It's all there.
Manuals like all manuals just give to much information.....
Also tutorials on Utube here http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q … q=audacity

Hey kaps
I just read another British soldier has been killed Afghanistan.
Nature of war has changed there isn't any battlefields like used to be not for western world. Our soldiers still fight against terrorism in far away places and die.
I guess it's the nature of man.
Love and War will be with us and so will be the songs.
Well done

This message is on the front page of Chordie should we be worried that Chordie is in danger of being closed down.
2008-06-26: Are your songs on Chordie?
IMPORTANT: The owner of Chordie wants to get in touch with artists who have their songs indexed on Chordie. Especially artists who think it is great that amateur musicians learn to play guitar by playing their songs.
Unfortunately, I can't give you detailed information about the background for this request. However, I can tell you that this is vital to the survival of Chordie, and that it might lead to a lot of media attention. Please contact
The use of the words " Vital to the Survival of Chordie" has got me worried is copywrite rearing it's ugly head here......

Re: Songwriting software?? (4 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Here's a work around but it's outside chordie's website ![]()
1 Go to http://webchord.sourceforge.net/index.html and format your song to Chorpro there
2 Copy the formatted song.
3 Paste your song to windows note pad (Not word or word pad It places boxes around them)
You may need to edit them slightly
4 save note pad file to hard drive.
Don't copy from chordpro fomatted songs from Chordie as they don't display correctly.

Re: Stuck in Chicago (10 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Kaps I don't think there's a way of writing it as such over the lyrics.
Chopro doesn't include all the variants in it's format either.
I think the best way way denote the C chord your using is to put down as X32013 in the introduction.

Hi All
I'm after a new electro Acoustic been trying a few in the medium price range Uk about £400.
I really like the look and feel of a Cort SFX 6R eletro acoustic.
I wonder if anyone has got one or has experience of them.
A opinion on them would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks getfiddle.I have the C with the pinky on the 1st string third fret, but I'll give that a shot and C how it sounds Thanks Again
KAP54
Hey KAP54
The Chord you you describe is still a C a variant with a added pinky Gnote on the high E string.
The C7 sounds somewhat different but may fit.
You seem to be on a songwriting roll at moment.:)
Nice song

Re: World Cup 2008 (9 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I don't think the Euro's hold much interest in the UK as none of the four teams qualified for the finals.
It was rather pathetic how the BBC and ITV tried to drum up interest in the televised matches.....
Who are you going to support seeing there was no national side to cheer on DAh....
Thinking about it we do have a large number of Europeans here so I guess maybe the viewing figures may still hold up.
England has got a European manager now and he's recalled Beckham to the Squad so things are looking rosy for the World cup qualifiers.......... Not
and they have mucked around with timing of Eastenders and that has really Pi** me off. ![]()
