Thank you fellas !

It's a doo wop throwback love song from  the fifties I think. smile
It has a nice sound to it when I play through it - too bad that when I add my singing it doesn't go too well  sad

ps = if anyone wants to see a great show about the development of music in the early sixties - go to NETFLIX and watch  " Echo in the Canyon"  - it is really, really good !

Her rendition of California dreaming was spectacular.

Amazing how  she took one of the best folk/rock  songs of all times and turned it into a jazzy / bluesy phenomenon

also,

watch the dream a little dream of me - and try not to picture her as Elvis Presley's daughter.   smile  Looks, mouth movements, and song performance ( less the hip gyrations smile  )
Good stuff my friend !
Thanks for sharing

Came up with this this morning thinking about the first night I ever spent with my wife (of 36 years).

Love At First Sight by Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

[G]My heart is burning, can you [Em]feel the flame

[C]every time you touch me and [D]say my name

[G]Each kiss and touch makes me [Em]love you more

I [Am]swear I’ve never felt this [D]way before [D]

[G][Em] [C][D]

.

Verse 2

[G]Love’s one desire is to [Em]join two hearts

[C]It doesn’t matter how that [D ]fire starts

[G]give your love freely and [Em] have no fears

And [Am]let happiness roll [D] through the years [D]

.

Chorus

[C]Do you believe in love at first sight ?

[G]Can there be magic in just one night ?

[C]Is it destiny, the fate of souls ?

[Am]You never know what [D]love controls

[C]Do you believe in love at first sight ?

[G]Is there magic in the air tonight ?

[C]Is this how it’s supposed to feel

[Am]Is this love and [C]baby is it [G]real ?

[Am]Is this love and [C]baby is it [G]real ?

.

Verse 3

[G]How am I to know what [Em]tonight’s begun

[C]When one heart is both and [D]bothare one

[G] I want to hold you close, and [Em]make you mine

I’ll [Am] love you tonight, and [D]for all time [D]

.

[Am]Is this love and [C]baby is it [G]real ?

slower

[Am]oh I think this is love and [C] baby I'm sure it's [G]real

Since owning guitars are somewhat of a passion here, I came across this - he is a favorite of mine.

Maybe some of you also have found players with great collections you would also want to shre ( or even your own.

Nora is a terrific musician
She can cover just about any song, any genre - make it a jazzy sounding hit.
Warm music on an extremely cold morning here in upstate New York !
Thanks for sharing.

Easybeat got me thinking about how Christmas might not be such a great holiday for some people and that a little kindness, understanding and help might very important to them rather than a present under the tree.

anyway here is the song I wrote  - probably needs a lot of fine tuning.

Christmas Love By Jim Kenyon

[Em] oh, not every [G] one knows about [C] how I [G] feel

or [Em]maybe no one [G]cares [C] what is[G] real

ya know that [Em] there’s some[G] things no [C]one should [G]feel

Like when your [Em]begging a [G]stranger for [C]your next [G]meal

.

Chorus

[Em]Well, it’s Christmas [G]time all [C]through the [G]town

There’s [Em]Christmas [G]Spirit flowing[C] all a[G]round

Yeah It’s [Em]Christmas [G]time from[C] coast to [G]coast

won’t you [Em]give your[G] Christmas love to those [C]who need it the[G] most

.

[Em]Oh Christmas isn’t [G] always [C]what it [G]seems

For[Em] me it’s always [G]been a bunch of[C] broken [G]dreams

Yeah, now [Em] Christmas seems [G]just like [C] any other [G]day

When I [Em]spend my time [G]chasing the [C]blues [G]away

.

Chorus

[Em]Well, it’s Christmas [G]time all [C]through the [G]town

There’s [Em]Christmas [G]Spirit flowing[C] all a[G]round

Yeah It’s [Em]Christmas [G]time from[C] coast to [G]coast

won’t you [Em]give your[G] Christmas love to those [C]who need it the[G] most

.

[Em]oh it’s hard to find the[G] road [C]to make things[G] right

When there’s [Em]heartache and [G]tears all [C]through the [G]night

there’s always[Em]too much [G]darkness and [C]not enough[G] love

and the [Em]world comes[G] crashing down[C] from [G]above

.

'

can’t you [Em]give your[G] Christmas love to those [C]who need it the[G] most

yea I’m asking

won’t you [Em]give your[G] Christmas love to those [C]who need it the[G] most

CG - What A great comment on Jeff's song - I quite agree - we need more stuff like this in the world!

Yes Peatle-   it happens to me all the time!

I will see something or hear some one say something that reverberates and it is like a
voice inside that sticks there until I write something about it.
For example the song I wrote Three Words, Eight Letters -  I  was in a little cafe having breakfast while waiting for my car to be repaired. This woman came in that I did not know, but I could tell she was distressed. She was a stunning middle aged gal, and as I sat there- the words to the song just kept coming to my head. I have no idea what really was the matter with her, but I just imagined a love story and fictionalized it in my head that I wanted to fall in love with her.

I use my phone a lot... instead of writing ideas on paper - I usually just text myself the idea.

Good topic my friend for those of us who like to write - I am interested to hear from everyone on this.

Thank you all.  To me it sounds really good.
Beamer - I wish you were here to thrash on it to really see what it can do.
It has Seymour Duncan SH1's - a.k.a.  Vintage Blues humbuckers.   They growl very nicely, but also play so smooth on the lower volume end

Thank you Graham and Neo!
Phill - yes they have a growl to them - it's going to take me a while to get used to them

Yes Peatle - pretty much why I build them - thinking maybe my kids and grandkids will appreciate them and remember me  smile
Thanks again guys for the positive feedback!

it is  Outstanding - got that Texas sound !  Can you either send me the lyrics or post them along with chords ?  Really  a fantastic song - a plethora of great lines !
I like the one " tried to call back but nobody's home    I'll just leave a message for the kids when they're grown " Thanks for sharing    Jim

I like the part where he brought the kids on stage.
Not my top choice of music to listen to - but he is a really good performer.
