The  thing  about  self  criticism is you always know  when you  have  played  the  bum note  or forgot  the  words ,half  of  the  time  if  youve  got  the  start  and  finish  right  the  audience  dont realise ,( our  old  fiddle  player taught me  that   a long  time  ago )I  remember   once  completely  making  a  total  balls of Seven nations  army  and  the  audience   calling  for  us  to  play it again  at  he  end  of  the  set ,(maybe  they  wanted  to  see  if  I  could  get  it  right, lol )

I have been contacted by Bongo boy Tv an American company with view to transmiting oneof my videos.Do any of our U S members know of Bongo boy or have seen any of their programs.I get the feeling this may be a scam as they ask for a fee for broadcasting ,but on googling them they appear genuine.
As I cant access American Tv any info would be good.

Went to my local guitar shop today to have a look at a Peavy vypr 30 that they said I might be interested in ,sounded great reasonable price but so complicated to set up.
I noticed they had a line 6 spider 30   I at least know what I'm doing with that as I have the spider 75 in Crete and it sounds great and is a reliable amp plus it was 30 pounds cheaper .

I wrote  this in the  style Lucile Bogan so I  hope no  one  is offended as  many  of  Lucille's  songs  were  very  near  to  the  knuckle and  dealt  with sexual subjects .This  song tells  of  a  Black  burlesque  artist  in the depression of the  20s and  leaves  much  to  the  listeners  imagination but  I  hope  it  reflects  the feeling  of  the  era .

I'll  try  it  Phill  see  how  it  goes  It  will  be  at  least  a week before  I  get  to  record it   ,feel free  to  play  around with  it  I  always  love  to  hear  other interpretations

This  is the  initial sequence I  came  up  with  ,it  starts   with  a jangley  walkdown intro  d-f-e-d-c  verse  2  follows  the  same  progression  but  with electric guitar and  I  think  a  short  solo   after  verse 2 before verse  3  takes a  calm exit .I  may  change  the  D  and the  A   to  minors   in verse  one   and  fifths  for  the  rest   not  sure  till  I  get  amped up again,
D            F-C
I feel so introverted
A                           D
Things are locked in side
D                F-C
All my deep emotions
A                                    D
Have just found a place to hide
F                              C
Once I could express my self
G                            D
With eloquence and pride
D                              F-C
My whole world just fell apart
A                         D
This wave I got to ride.

Taken from a distant shore
To some other land
Unknown faces all around
Words I dont understand
Situation dangerous
Not the life I planned
I feel so introverted
And I need a helping hand

I miss the warm wind blowing
I miss the deep blue sea
Familiar surroundings
The man I used to be
Perhaps one day I will return
And things will be the same
Till then I'm introverted
And live my life in pain

Just  sat  down with  my telecaster and put  a  few  chords  to  this  poem  ,looks  promising  I'll  add  them  in a  while   and  try it  when I  get  my  amp  out  of  storage  next  week .

Had some thoughts this morning about people throughout the ages who  have been taken from their chosen places or homes, and  came up  with this poem about how  they  might have  felt on arrival in a strange place.

I feel so introverted
Things are locked in side
All my deep emotions
Have just found a place to hide
Once I could express my self
With eloquence and pride
My whole world just fell apart
This wave I got to ride

Taken from a distant shore
To some other land
Unknown faces all around
Words I dont understand
Situation dangerous
Not the life I planned
I feel so introverted
And I need a helping hand

I miss the warm wind blowing
I miss the deep blue sea
Familiar surroundings
The man I used to be
Perhaps one day I will return
And things will be the same
Till then I'm introverted
And live my life in pain
