Drops of Jupiter,  but i dunno who sings it !

That would be Train.

The one I posted earlier that nobody guessed was "Feather Plucking" by The Presidents of the United States of America" You can hear it here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87GXX83B … annel_page some really fun lyrics wink

If you'll left click and drag over the lyrics and chords to highlight them and then right click on the highlighted selection, a pop up menu will come up. From there select Print Preview and at the top of the preview page select  "as selected" you can then use the % option to alter the size of the text so that it fits on one or two pages. As far as the colored text: You should have a box that pops up before it actually prints...There should be an option for Printing Prefrences or something along those lines. Just click there and select to print color images in black and white. That should cover your problems. -Pix

Hey Woodcutter and welcome to Chordie! If you'll click on resources and go to "Change settings/tuning" you can change your settings/chord diagrams to fit the mandolin. We have a few variations of the song you requested here http://www.chordie.com/song.php/songart … index.html Once you change the tuning to mandolin, that should give you what you're looking for. -Pix

Bare Naked Ladies "Pinch Me"  Great Band!!

Staying with silly lyrics...

"Five thousand froggies rockin really really really hard

Check out chickey drivin piggys little blue car"

There is a small line that goes between these 2 but I didn't want to give too much...

In the vein of ...Jack Johnson, Matt Costa, ALO, Beautiful Girls, Ben Harper.....He's played with all these at diffrent venues. I believe he is signed under Brushfire records as well;) He also had a recent hit singing about buddha....

That should help.... This one is kinda hard seeing as it is not mainstream...

Okay, I'm bored this morning so let's play a game...

Here's how it goes... I'm goin' to list a lyric line and the first person who knows the song answers and lists his lyric line and thus it continues...

So here's my line... Figure out the song then post your own! I tried to make the first one pretty easy...;)

" Trodding through San Juan

   In the arms of America

   Trodding through Jamaica, a ......."

Disclaimer: I realize we are not supposed to post full lyric's in the forum but I thought one line quotes in a trivial format would be fine...If this post in any way violates the lyrics clause please feel free to remove it..-Pix

**Admin Note - posting one line of a song is perfectly aceptable - enjoy the game. Roger **

Just curious how everyone tunes their Tenor uke's. I'm mainly interested in your prefrences between High G and Low G? Which do you prefer and why?

Hey Russell, I run the same set up (vista & IE) I've had the same problems over the past few weeks but it seems to have improved recently...

Along the same lines as Arkadys advice but for vista, When it freezes just hit Alt & F4 together to manually close the page and prevent having to reboot.

Alvarez, Morgan Monroe, Blueridge...All have thin neck profiles.  I'll drop in a few more as they come to mind..:) -Pix

Well the new uke is scheduled to arrive Tuesday!! I just wanted to check back in and drop a plug for the seller! I bought this through The Ukulele Shop http://www.ukuleleshop.net/ and it has been the best buying experience I've ever had! Rob has called me a few times to talk and discuss set up details, string prefrences/diffrences and so forth. I've never had service like this!! He called again just a minute ago just to talk about some new strings for my tenor... He restrung several of his tenor ukuleles with diffrent strings and took the time to play them for me over the phone so I could decide which strings I liked the sound of best! That's service and I didn't even buy the tenor from him! I just mentioned in one of our emails that I had just got one and now he's going to send me my 2 top string choices ,based on the samples he played,  for me to try out!

Just thought that service like this deserved a mention.. If anyone is considering a ukulele purchase or looking for somewhere to order strings and supplies from, I'd very highly recommend getting in touch with Rob at The Ukulele Shop! He's also on ebay as Ukulele4u. -Pix

You may want to read through this thread on bridge pins.. http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9595

Bridge pins do make a small dfference (brass making more than others) but the question is in which way do you want to change the sound? Different pin materials have different effects on tone. You need to consider the tone woods that your guitar has, it's voice and how you want it to sound... Choosing the wrong material can actually make it sound worse to you if it accents what you don't like in the tone...  Personally, I'm not a fan of brass pins. I prefer a more woody tone and brass is too bright and metallic for my taste, but that's just personall prefrence...-Pix

You're paying too much for Elixers!! I order mine on the web from Dr Clucks for $12 a set and that's for the higher priced nano phospher bronze customs! Shopping around can get them for $10 a set! My local music store only charges $19.99 and they tend to e high... I'd find another source if you like them. I love the fresh sound that they keep for a long period of time...They also have a great feel and record very well with less string noise.. Worth every penny in the long run. I'd change standard strings every 2 weeks and a set of elixers will hold me over for 2 or more months! -Pix

Oh and I think the magic is actually on the outside wink The coating smile

Toney my man, That is the best uke tool I've ever seen!! I had to give this thread a bump back to the top and say thanks!! Anybody out there that plays the uke or is trying to learn it NEEDS to visit this site! The play along feature is what really makes it! A huge list of songs for the uke with audio and interactive display that carries you through the lyrics, chords and all the changes for them!! WOW! Thanks again! Can ya tell I liked it lol  -Pix

Congrats Tops! Very Cool! I hadn't seen those yet.. What size did you go with? When you replace the strings, consider the Aquila brand! Great Uke strings (IMO) It's really amazing the diffrence in tone they make! -Pix

I've been shopping around for one of these for several months and finally found one! It's a Kala Sitka spruce top baritone limited edition with spalted and flamed maple back & sides with mahogany bindings. Just had to share the excitement! wink I'll be sure to touch back with a full review next week when she arrives. I'll get some pics up then as well but until then, here are some pics of the actual ukulele that the dealer took.

I haven't tried the actual Guitar Hero game but I do have Rock Band for my PS3... Love it! Me and the friends usually jam here about twice a week and we always end the night with a few hours of the game! I have 2 guitars ,so bass can be played as well, the drums and the mic so we get the whole thing going! It's a blast especially after few cold ones smile But then again, I've always been a really big gamer wink I Currently have 5 gaming systems hooked up in the house...Wow never really counted like that yikes I won't even get started on the number of games... let's just say between me and my 3 sons we have a cabinet set aside for game disks... I just beat Resident Evil 4 last night for the 5th or 6th time. Gotta love killing swarms of zombies with an infinite amoed RPG lol

Congrats on taking up the guitar!-Pix
