Here is a short video of two of my young students two weeks after being shown the dreaded 'B' chord. OK it is the shortened version of the chord but is quite sufficient for most songs and as you can see they are only playing one beat of the chord and have to get it clean.

Take your time and work on it daily, you will be able to get there.

Hi Paul,
Examples of how I do it e-mailed to you as I cannot show them here.
Roger
Super!! Well done young lady, I am now looking forward to the next one.
Roger
Years ago one appeared in my family (too long ago to remember where it came from) and I did try to play it, I was taking piano lessons at the time but found it very difficult.
Here in Portugal thay are quite popular and most Portuguese music shops will have some in. Although the usual configuration is buttons (for bass) in left hand, and piano keys (for melody) in right, some do have buttons for both.

Don't classical guitars have wider necks that would be harder to finger chords? Or am I on the wrong train of thought?
A 3/4 size classical guitar has the same size neck as an acoustic/electric and the slightly smaller body size makes it easier for a youngster to handle. This is what we normally sell to young beginners and offer to buy the guitar back in exchange against an electric or acoustic when they have mastered the basics and are ready for an upgrade.

If your mood is mean and nasty I will not give you a reply,
'Cause if your mood is mean and nasty and you know not the reason why,
I may, by mistake, say just what you don't want to hear.
And then you might go and shout in my ear.

I am pleased that you did it. Well done.
Now is the time to start practicing for the next one
.
Roger
Go for it. Let us know how you get on please.
Roger
Copyright laws are a headache but it is acceptable to post a couple of lines, so you could quote the song with the start and finish lines.

I had a G7th Nashville, it was cheaper than the Dunlop and it worked fine, but I did not like the operating grips pointing forward. I found it very awkward to use so I gave it away to an 8 year student, who loves it.

Hi Lieven,
You really need a photo of the damage to be advised properly. If you are unsure how to post one here, send me it by e-mail and I will put it up for you. If you do so, send also a picture of your Hagstrom guitar and I put that up too.
Roger
Nice to see you around again
I have two, both are the Dunlop shown in z's post above. They get a lot of use, as my students often borrow them, and I would buy have any other make if I wanted another.
Roger
You will be pleased to see that the range of pedals has been increased

I particularly like the drummer silencer.
Roger
I will probably be available for either.

1. Listen to the song.
2. Tap a rhythm with your right hand to it.
3. Pick up your guitar and convert that tapping unto an up and down movement across your strings.
4. You are now playing the song
Roger
Well, it is a beautiful part of the country where you live, but I am not sure how many Members we have within easy travelling distance of you. Lets see what response you get. Fingers are crossed.
Roger
Wishing you well and a successful outcome.
Rog
You????

With you 200%. I have made some great friends here even though it is unlikely I am ever to meet them in person, however I have met some on Skype and that is rather awsome.
Roger
Happy Birthday to Katie and Jeff. Have a super dooper day both of you
Roger
