Hi Oldnewbie
You can convert wav files to Mp3 using software available on the net try here http://www.mediamatrixes.com/Convert_Cd … 4&kp=4
usually free to try. I have used them myself.

Facebook will not to my knowledge host uploaded music
Myspace will if you join as an artist. It will allow you to upload up to 6 songs in Mp3 format.
If you don't want any hassle from anyone who knows you. Then you join under anyname you choose not your own of course and don't put a picture of your self on there.  wink

Hope this helps

Welcome to Chordie Oldnewbie I can see you have quite busy posting smile
If your quest to find others to play guitar with is unfruitful and you still find yourself in crevice. Have you considered recording your songs and uploading to Myspace or some other music hosting site. It gives a goal to strive for and can be quite enjoyable.
I've seen your've written some songs what about recording them. I'm sure friends of Chordie on Myspace would like to host them for you.
Just a thought

Stickers on Guitars (Sorry UYK Adhesive labels I should know I sometimes have to print the blasted things)
are like go faster stripes on your basic Ford nice to look at but they don't make it go any faster.
or in guitar's case (no pun) sound better..... or worse unless you plaster them everywhere.

Hi tflann
Welcome to Chordie.

The Am7 chord can be played 31220X with your pinky on the 3rd fret of the 1st E string if it helps though it gives a tonal difference. You then don’t have to worry about touching 1st E and 3rd G strings with the index finger.
Though with practice things slowly come together.
All the best

Here's something I tried for a while with a capo. Put the capo on the second fret then tuned all the strings down so they were tuned as if they were still being played open.
It was certainly easier to play all those nasty barre chords and speeded up my finger picking.
But ultimately it felt like I was cheating so it was abit of a pointless exercise.
Just 1 of the 101 things you can do with a capo.

If this is the first song you are trying to learn then I think you may have bitten off more than you can chew.
Try something eaiser with a more simple chord progression there millions out there.
If you expect to much you might get frustrated and ditch the whole guitar thing.

My advice to you is fairly simple get some songs you like with easy chord progressions and that you really would like to learn to play.
Then practice. Your gotta like what you do with a guitar and it aint no computer. smile

All of the above advice is excellent.
Here's my bit.
I think the key (not a pun) to most sucessful songwriting is to keep things simple at first. Using your basic chords.
The chord  progression? which you have in mind is not the simplest so they really don't help in fitting a melody around them.
Maybe you have some melody in mind for these so the advice for getting some lyrics down is good.
I suppose all I'm trying to get across is don't try to run before you can walk and keep it simple at first.
Good luck

Well I use an old four track recorder as an interface plugging the guitar, mircophone and keyboard into it. Then I connect the four track directly into the computer audio in on the sound card.
I don't use the four track to record the tracks as Audacity records the input from the four track onto one track. Then I play the recorded track while recording another track. The most tracks I have recorded this way is three but I don't think theres a limit to the number of tracks you can record this way.
It's made the old 4track tape recorder redundant.

Hope this explains somewhat
Ark

PS

Hi russ will have listen to your new song an email you later

Since being directed to and using a free downloaded programe called "Audacity" (I must admit it was James who put me onto Audacity but not directly. Thanks James)
I've exclusively been working on guitar based instrumental music of my own.
Hence no original song posts in the songwriting section for a while as it is a lyric based forum.

Anyone who wants to try a multi track recorder to use on the computer for free try Audacity it's a great tool for song recording and converting to mp3 for nothing.

Ah I now see....................
How such a jolly old Bollixy song would work looking back on dem oldie dollie posts.

"I only ever heard your expression from English People, friends or holiday makers!
We do use that word here in different ways! A term of endearment?
"Ah your an awful B####x" can mean i like you! or i think your funny!
That yoke is B####x? means its broke or not working!
Your only a B####x? Means "your not a very nice person!
I will-n-me B####x? means "Im not doing that!
Ask me B####x, "speaks for its self!"

I retract my old Bollixy post I am all Humbley. lol
Arkadiebudlike (sounds good might change my id)

Would this "The Bollox Song" be the Dog's Bollox or just plain Bollox. lol
The Mother tongue is so explanatory.
